This was an interesting and very Japan specific experience. Most importantly it was obvious the owner really loved his cats, and their well-being was his priority. I am 100% happy with that, and it was a very different experience to cat cafes I’ve visited in Thailand for example. The cats were all beautiful, all different breeds, clearly very healthy and well cared for. They obviously adored their owner, one in particular kept climbing up on him to cuddle.

The setting was beautiful, immaculately clean, odour free, air conditioned with relaxing music. Plenty of hiding and climbing places and toys for the cats.

As others have said the owner has very strict rules which he explains clearly using google translate where necessary. These rules are obviously to keep the cats safe and healthy- using hand sanitiser, not feeding snacks too soon after they’ve eaten, not letting them get scraps of cream or icecream from meals.

The drinks were good and the one meal we ate was ok, but nothing special.

The cats themselves were minimally interested in interacting, with the exception of a couple which were happy to play with a feather toy, or receive gentle pats. Once we bought some cat snacks we had 2 very attentive furry friends but others were still not interested.

I think in terms of cat welfare this place is absolutely amazing, and I felt no qualms about patronising it. If you are happy to sit back and watch happy healthy cats playing and relaxing, it is perfect. But if you are hoping for lots of interactions with the cats, it’s probably not for you. I personally would prefer this place to somewhere with cats that aren’t cared for and protected so well.

It’s worth noting that children must be 12 or over to visit. I think prices and times entry etc are pretty standard for in Japan. We stayed an hour (minimum stay time on a weekday) and it was enough for us. Also note the owner accepts cash only.

We arrived before noon on a Friday and were the only ones there. People are all outside lining up for food :)

Owner was very friendly and spoke English.

The cafe is very well decorated and clean. I appreciated the clearly written and explained rules.

CATS are sooo pretty and cute! My favorite is the one with the short leg <3

Very relaxing music and atmosphere.

Even though we spent only 30 minutes, we were totally relaxed and energized after a week of running around Tokyo.

Researched on cat cafes in Tokyo and found many reviews saying this was the best in Tokyo. The owner greeted my family at the door and looked annoyed at us since the moment we arrived like he didn't want us there and was forced to let us in. He wasn't friendly at all which made me quite anxious but oh well I'm just here for the cats. All the cats were not active at all and were just lying around and ignoring all of us. One of them even tried to bite me when I tried to pet it. My mum even got told off when she took a little too long to say goodbye to one of the cats. Basically, we just paid 4000+ yen just to pet some cats that didn't want to interact. Might as well just visit a friend that owns a cat. 🤷‍♀️At least they were cute. Pretty sure the owner muttered some curse in Japanese because my mum asked "are the cats cute?" before he let us in.

Wasn't going to spend a long time finding a good cat cafe and one of the blogs mentioned they went to alot and this one was the best. With messed up feet and knee, I went over there. Ended up being an awkward and a waste of time. Got lost at first finding it, only to finally find it after back tracking.

Owner greets you when you arrive in and you must take off your shoes and use the provided slippers. You have to read a page from a book of rules. I find this too restrictive. Common sense should be enough to know what to do. For Tokyo, the price is fairly cheap, I paid for a half hour which was too much.

It's confusing when you first start because you're suppose to pick a seat or something and felt like the owner really wanted to have you order some food. I moved and the owner felt confused on what I was doing. As for the main event for the cats, most of them just laid around with some being more friendly than others. Owner kept a very watchful eye on the cats and as well as all the people inside. I never felt relaxed the whole time. It felt like you were walking on egg shells because the owner felt uptight because there's that feeling he was always watching you.

Cats being cats, they weren't too active and the owner scolded me for using the provided slippers on some mat they had there. Another thing that bothered me was the fact that he seemed ALOT more friendly with locals (read, spoke Japanese) than tourists. Anal retentive on time. Policies dictate that if you are over even by a minute, he's gonna charge you. If you leave early, price is whatever you agreed on.

The positives is that it was clean, but a sterile controlled experience. It's close to another tourist destination. I suggest some other one as there are 5+ in the huge city of Tokyo. Overrated and not recommended.

This was the best cat cafe we found in Tokyo after trying to avoid the Mocha chain cat cafes. The price is about the same as any good one you’ll find and the atmosphere and the treatment of the cats is great. The cats are friendly and seem quite happy, one even jumped into the owners arms for a cuddle. We’ve been to a few cat cafes across Japan and I’d definitely say this is one of the best for both the experience and environment for the cats.

We stumbled upon this cat cafe when the one we were trying to go to didn't seem to be open. But I'm SO glad the other place didn't answer the bell because THIS WAS THE BEST!!! Cat Cafe Monta was the best cat cafe in Tokyo.

It was super clean, the owner was very nice, the decor was stylish and modern. And of course the cats. THE CATS!!! This cat cafe had the most beautiful and unique cats of any cat cafe we've ever been to. My only regret is that we didn't have time to stay longer (we were flying out later that day so were limited on time).

何回か訪問しているがあまり訪れるたびに猫が懐いてくれなくなってきている気がする。もう少し絡めると嬉しい。

We had a very good time there. Owner speaks very good English, everything is very very clean (I wonder how is that even possible with that many cats :-)

Coffee is also good, the cats are friendly but most of them dont want to be touched whitch is also o.k They are animals with their own mood.

A tipp for the owner:

For Tourists it is difficult to connect to Wifi, i wonder is there any? Would be a nice plus a guide in English how to connect :-)

Greetings from Switzerland!!
