We went on a really wet misty day but it didn’t spoil the day. This place is so peaceful and felt very spiritual. The silence was very calming. Beautiful scenery with views out to sea.

Well maintained area with a couple of information plaques, if this is an area of history that interests you well worth a visit plus a great view!

This is not Scara Brae but it provides a point of interest when walking the coastal path round St. Mary's. Probably not worth a visit on its own unless you are an archaeological guru.

Incredible place with wonderful views and a short but fabulous walk from St. Marys. Nice cafe in the way back.

Hidden away is this beautiful history of the island . It’s a good walk but well worth a visit , there are plenty of signs to all the sites and plenty of lovely locals who will point you in the right direction.
Every one here is lovely and so friendly !

This is surely one of the most picturesque parts of St Mary’s with many trees giving much needed shade if the weather is sunny. The views across to the off islands are stunning. As with most of the foot paths around the islands good foot ware is advised and probably not suitable for those not able to cope with rough terrain. Halangy Ancient Village is a wonderful place to rest and chill out listening to the chug of the passenger launches motoring around the islands and the ever present bird song.

The ancient village is not much to look at as you can’t make much sense of the various stones. However, the burial chamber higher up the slope is well presented and has lovely views towards Tresco. A suitable focal point for a half day walk from Hugh Town which you could combine with a visit to the cafe Juliet’s Garden.

finding it by accident was the best part really. it's further along the coastal path from Juliet's Garden. near the entrance to Juliet's was a sign showing the route to it. at first you might think not much to see. but there are illustrations on a board of how the village looked and it was easy to imagine the houses. just a calm place with a true feeling of connecting with the past. talked to people there who were taking a nostalgic visit. a lady who holidayed there many time on probably her last trip. everyone on Scilly is friendly and has time to talk.

It seems that not much is known for sure about these ancient mounds found throughout Scilly. It is interesting to read the speculation and to see evidence of something so ancient. It is definitely worth taking small detours to visit these places while walking around the islands.

Really interesting with good interpretation panels. Set on a hillside with brilliant views - and a bench!
