We have just got back from a wonderful stay at this villa with a group of friends. There were 8 adults and our 4year old twin daughters in the group. The villa was superb. The layout worked very well for us, there are 2 room along with the playroom in the basement so we had those rooms and we didn't disturb the rest of the group when our girls woke earlier than them. On the ground floor is the kitchen, lounge with open fireplace and outside terrace, along with 3 ensuite bedroom and a toilet. The last bedroom is across a small courtyard and overlooks the pool. The decor is modern and minimal and has all the furniture you need for a holiday villa. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could need. The dishwasher is invaluable when holidaying with a large group, we often cooked on the gas barbecue and enjoyed eating our meals outside. The dining table comfortably seats 12 and has amazing views over the mountains. Something that would improve this villa is new pillows, we all found those supplied very thin and flat. Also there is no DVD player although it mentions it on the advert.
The pool is great and also has amazing views. There are about 7 sun beds and a large umbrella. Unfortunately we found we couldn't leave things by the pool as sometimes local dogs run though and on one occasion when we were out, ran off with 1 sandal and1 armband. We later saw in the guest book that previous guests had fed them! If you have young children be aware that the pool is not fenced. Our girls understood not to go in their own, but with toddlers it could be difficult and you would need to keep a close eye on them at all times.
The location of the villa is very rural, there are a few other houses nearby but the nearest village is about a 5 minute drive. San Pantaleo has a good selection of restaurants, pizzerias and a good gelato shop, the last 2 do take away. There is all a small general store. The nearest supermarkets are about a 15 minute drive away. Be aware, the shops and supermarkets all open different hours, with some closing for siesta, even larger supermarkets.
Communication with the owner was good when booking, although the week before we went I had to email 3 times to get directions and check the arrival procedure. A sat nav that uses GPS co-ordinates is very useful in finding not only the villa but generally finding your way around.
