Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review. We always appreciate the feedback we receive as this helps us to see where we can do even more to please our guests and improve our service to you.
It is fascinating to note the different comments made with respect to the Brazilian-English fusion of Aratinga inn. In all truth, most guests are just so relieved, and so happy to find a fluent, native English speaker on Ilha Grande, that any other thought just doesn't get a mention! Language apart, I think we have to thank the Brits for their wonderful, and civilized, tradition of afternoon tea, which is always much appreciated by our guests, who come from all parts of the globe.
On the topic of food, the comment about breakfast made me laugh out loud. Clearly, it appears that there's just no pleasing some people! Happily, we have never had a complaint before that the breakfast was too light ;-))
Seriously, if one tries to eat all on offer, breakfast would be very heavy indeed! As a lighter option, the beautiful fresh fruit salad with home made natural yoghurt and granola makes a tasty and satisfying start to the day. For the hungry, there is no need to hold back on the wide variety of cold cuts and cheeses, the delicious scrambled eggs with sauteed onions, the grilled sausages and grilled tomatoes with fresh herbs, or the bakery delights and our own, freshly baked, homemade cake filled with natural fruits and goodness.
I am still puzzling as to which of the beautiful tropical plants in our breakfast room was thought to be fake! The real tropical palms in our breakfast lounge are a wonderful link to our tropical garden, and bring the 'outside' to the 'inside'. The palms were bought just recently and do look so lush, that they might seem too good to be real!
I can only agree with our guest that the rooms in the original guest house are small when compared to modern day standards. What must be remembered though is that tourism is still in its infancy on Ilha Grande. When these rooms were built by the original owners, many years ago, no-one then had any idea of what would be the demands and expectations of worldly, international travelers today.
However, whilst small, the original guests rooms are cozy and comfortable and offer all of the fittings one needs, including an air conditioner, ceiling fan, a generous sized bar fridge and LCD TV & DVD player. The bed and the bedding are top quality and a good night's sleep is guaranteed.
All of us at Aratinga inn are dedicated to our work. In particular, we all pay the utmost attention and detail to the cleanliness and hygiene of the inn. I referred the comment about the bathroom to our team, and together, we went to discover the cause of the problem. Not one of us could detect an unpleasant odour, so I cannot offer any other comment here.
Just as we appreciate our guests' feedback, we hope that Aratinga's feedback is equally helpful.
