I spent 2 blissful weeks at the Moorings with friends for the first time this August. The home gave me a good feeling the minute I walked in: beautifully decorated, with a calming, beachy feel. The open plan makes it great for socializing, we spent many a relaxing evening cooking meals (the kitchen is fantastic) and enjoying a glass of wine while looking out at the sunset over the estuary (5 minute walk down the quiet street to the pontoon and Mermaid statue!) The beds are so comfortable, complete with lovely linens… I stayed in the main floor bedroom - which has big glass doors out to the back patio. So private and quiet, I slept like a log.
There's a friendly pub a 15 minute walk from the house, with a great outdoor deck overlooking the river. In the village centre (St. Dogmael's, 5 minute drive) is a wonderful ancient abbey, with a great local market once a week. Nearby is the fabulous Pizza Tipi - a great outdoor space with live music on weekends in the summer… and the... Plus
