Our hosts were kind enough to transport us to the Hobbit house from the train station and even invited us to dinner the first evening of our visit. They were available for any questions that we had and were able to make many suggestions for us in regard to touring the area. The setting among the olive groves, with an expansive view of the valley, was quintessential Italy. The ancient town of Civitella del Lago was within walking distance and definitely worth climbing the hill to experience the locals, the architecture and the wonderful bakery.
We had a wonderful time and even picked olives during an afternoon with the owners who sent us home with a liter of freshly pressed olive oil. Don't hesitate to visit this location. They hosts are very welcoming. Plus
