I have stayed at Laguna Park II a handful of times now, once as a group of two and the remainder as a solo traveller.
I have noted rather mixed reviews for it, mainly as a consequence of it being at the top of a hill. I can understand how this may not be suitable for older people, those with walking difficulties, or those with children, but myself I did not find this to be a problem at all. It is certainly not like Mount Everest like some people seem to make out. And if this is a problem, then I guess the hotel would be unsuitable for you as opposed to a bad hotel. Anyway...
The rooms are generally the level you'd expect for 2 to 3* accommodation in southern Tenerife. I had a one bedroom apartment that was quite spacious. The added bonus was having a full kitchen with an oven, not just a couple of hobs to warm things up on. That made cooking indoors much, much easier.
