This apartment was perfect for our four night stay in Istanbul. It was clean and attractive with lovely old style decor; heavy wooden doors, high ceilings and handpainted wall decoration. We didn't use the kitchen much but it was well kitted out should you want to cook. The bathroom was tiny but clean with an excellent shower and efficient plumbing. Sinem organised our taxi from the airport and was there to welcome us. The second hand book shop in the basement was a useful point of contact.
It was in a terrific part of town between the Galata tower and the southern end of Istiklal Caddesi where the antique tram runs. Our bedrooms overlooked a small street of busy pavement cafes. We would particularly recommend Cafe Privato for the most wonderful lentil soup and cherry pancakes but there was a good choice of eating places nearby.
A short but steep walk took us to the Galata Bridge and the historic old town. Coming back, be sure to find the Tunel funicular railway... Plus
