Ok- so I didn't want to write a review- because this place is so amazing, I would prefer, for selfish reasons, that it be a secret. But I can't be like that, because all businesses need more business, and I know this place is a little off the beaten path and reviews help it gain exposure.
I would have to say that this is my favorite place EVER. The cottages are rustic, but no so intensely rustic that you feel deprived of basic creature comforts (yes, there are places like that- we stayed at one of them- it was a bit over the top rustic and very expensive)
Villa Campuhan is quiet- it is away from any and all hustle and bustle. The only thing you hear is the surf. They serve meals in the big Javanese community pavilion, which is outifitted with really cool INdonesian furniture and deep sofas, hammocks, and dining tables.
