After flying from Canada, and driving a rental car to Middleham, having the owners waiting for us and welcoming us to Honeykiln Cottage was very much appreciated. They took the time to ensure we knew everything that we needed to know for our stay and most graciously had a bouquet of fresh flowers, tea/coffee, a bottle of milk and a package of biscuits for us to enjoy.
We certainly were happy to have off street parking immediately outside the front door, the kitchen and bathroom were clean, and although the weather was not conducive to its use, we enjoyed viewing the back garden.
There was plenty to coal and wood for our frequent fires, but we did have some trouble regulating the overall heat of the cottage. Perhaps that was a reflection of our tiredness upon arrival and the verbal instructions just did not sink in.
The bookcase was well stocked with guides and info on the Dales and general area.
A dishwasher and a clothes dryer would have been nice. If the unit had... Plus
