One of the main reasons we made this booking was because my elderly father would be joining us. The cottage was not suitable for him at all, due to the split level floor in the lounge and the open wooden dog leg staircase without secure hand rail.
The garden is not secure and leads straight onto a road, which is used by several cars per day, so we couldn't allow our dog outside without supervision. A local farmer also expressed concern about his livestock, being worried dogs. So walking off lead in the lanes nearby was also not possible.
The peace was constantly interrupted by farm machinery,(it was harvest time) noise from cottage renovation, up the lane and the FLIES. It was unpleasant to have a bbq outside because of them and we had to swat several flies every night before attempting to have dinner. They also meant you can not leave doors and windows open.
