Last summer, my family (2 parents and an 8 yr old), and our travel companions (2 parents, a teenager, and one soon to be), had the pleasure of staying a week in the Dordogne at this wonderful chateau. The pictures don't do it justice. It's one of the most amazing properties you'll find, with an extraordinary view. And yes, those are swans. The property sits 50 yards from the town square, where were surprised with a harp concert, flea market, and dining options. Lots to do in the area, either by foot or short car rides, we weren't bored for a second, and neither were our children.
But the best part? The hospitality. Not only was every need met, but we had an issue with our rental car (or I did - I killed it with the wrong fuel), and our hostess made sure we were able to get to the airport for an exchange, and stayed up late to feed us after dealing with the tow truck on our first night. She's the sweetest, and will take EXCELLENT care of you.
