We've stayed at a lot of vacation rentals on the East Coast of Africa over the years so we've seen it all when it comes to the best and the worst. The beach was one of the most gorgeous I've ever seen and the hotels/restaurants around (Rock star restaurant, don't miss it!) seemed cool and attracted an easy going crowd. Right outside you can also find people to take you snorkeling in a little boat and to enjoy coconuts and the sights of bright starfish hanging in the beautiful sea. The house itself was pretty awesome with different locations to spend time if you needed a break and comfortable places to hang out with a group of friends.
When we were there the cook went to a wedding so we only had him one of our three nights I think. He was good but nothing spectacular. The nicoise salad, however, that was a real pleasure. Be clear about your expectations; we wanted only seafood and ended up with roast chicken one night which I thought was odd given our setting. The staff are... Plus
