The hacienda, built in the 1500s, is in the state of Guanajuato, which is landlocked in the middle of Mexico.... an hour from the city of San Antonio. It is in the middle of the desert. Rolling hills, rocky.... this kind of landscape. Suffice it to say, horseback riding across this terrain was pretty cool. Eric so enjoyed his runs up and down the hills and across the mesas. This area is 7000 feet above sea level. It is cool in the morning, then hot and dry all day. Animals animals everywhere. Dogs, cats, cows, sheep, pigs, roosters, burros, horses....
