Snowater is a gated community on the road to Mt Baker, just east of Glacier, Washington, USA.
Let's start with the positives. First off, this location is pretty spectacular, at the foot of mountains and on a riverbank. There are a lot of amenities within the compound (swimming, little hiking trails, tennis courts, etc), but we were there to go skiing so we didn't use the summer stuff. It's a gated place, so it's safe (presumably) and we had no issues in that respect. It's also the closest accommodations to Mt Baker so you can't do any better in that regard, about 20-25 minutes from the hill.
Now for some "Not so positives". We were there in January, and it was fairly cold, about 25 degrees (or -7 for the metric types). These places are basically made of particle board and drywall. I don't think there is any insulation to speak of. The place gets cold immediately. Consequently we had the heat cranked the whole time we were there just to maintain a... Plus
