We did a 3 day trekking tour in Sapa, and it was amazing! Our tourguide showed us how the locals live in the different villages. The company Trekking Tour Sapa only operate with small groups, and they adjust the itiniary to your liking and physical capacities. We just walked around and talked with the locals, and watched the farmers do their work. I even got to try to plant riceplants! And the view was absolutely stunning! We have been on many tours in Vietnam, but this was my absolutely favourite. Would highly recommend!

Trekking Tour Sapa is amazing!
We did a 3 days private tour with Trekking Tour Sapa. It was great! Our Tourguide Du told a lot about the culture of the local habitats and the ricefields. If you want to do a trekking tour in Sapa, we would highly recommend this one!

We booked the three days trekking (3d2n) and it was amazing! We ate supper with our guide and the family, the food was great and authentic. Dù was an amazing guide and showed us around the different villages and we walked through rice patties, corn fields, mountainsides and bamboo forests. The homestay was confortable, felt safe and provided good quality mosquito nets. This was an experience we will never forget!

We had an absolutely fantastic time. On the first day we had bad weather but we still enjoyed every minute. It is by far the best thing I have ever done. The home stays are great, all the food is tasty and big portions. Our guide, Du, answered any questions we asked and was really helpful. She assisted at parts where the route was a little bit tricky. We also met loads of lovely people from the villages. Would 100% recommend to anyone, it’s a truly brilliant experience.

I just completed the “Experience The Real Sapa 3 Days” with Dù as my guide and had a fantastic time! The scenery was breathtaking and it was such a cool experience to live among the Hmong and Dzao people for a couple days and experience their way of life. The homestays were quite rustic but comfortable, and the host families were so friendly and prepared very tasty food. Be prepared for pretty serious hiking and bring shoes with good traction.

I recommend booking your own bus to get to Sapa though, or ask questions about what you’re getting before it’s booked. I was booked on the Intercity Bus Line and all the seats or cabins only lay down - no sitting up at all, which is really awkward and uncomfortable if you’re not trying to sleep.

We went on the 3d 2n valley trek Tour with Tzu as our guide. Booking everything was easy and the communication was great from the start. The views were beautiful and the hike was amazing.
The thing that really stood out though was our great tour guide Tzu who took us through the most beautiful mountains and told us all about the place and the H'mong traditions and lifestyle. She was simply amazing and we could not have been happier with our guide. We also had a girl who came along with us as she wanted to be a guide some day when she gets some more confidence in her English. She was really sweet and helpful on the entire trip though. We hope that we can come back some day and see the house that Tzu was in the midst of building.
The homestay was great too. We had a private room and then we had breakfast and dinner with the other guests and the family. The entire family was so nice to us and the food was great. 10/10 experience and I would recommend booking through Trekking Tour Sapa anytime!

In one sentence - perfect experience for me.

We are 2 Asian ladies age 49 and 55 travelling from Singapore. It is our 1st time using services from Sinh/Mau Trekking Tour Sapa. I was worried at first, especially about the transport and accomodation arrangements but Sinh/Mau was fast on their replies and communication with me. So I felt more confident with my booking. Sihn/Mau also helped to make bus booking for us from Hanoi to Sapa which makes it easier for us. For the bus, we took 1 cabin for 2 pax but find it very squeezy, more suitable for couples. There were 2 stops for toilet and meal breaks. Toilet condition at the stopovers are clean. There are some food stalls that sell warm food. For return, we paid a bit more to get 1 cabin for 1 pax, which is a lot more comfortable. Trekking Tour Sapa was very accomodating for the last minute changes.

The weather - We were there in 2nd week of March thinking it will be warm but on the 1st day, it was very foggy and cold, about 13c. It got warmer the next 2 days. It is still cold at night but it is ok under the blanket. Still, it is better than raining. So glad that it didn't rain. Do check the weather and bring some warm clothes.

The tour - we were provided 1 big bottle of water but if more is needed, can be purchased from the homestay. Before or after the trip, we could shower in the office. Towels, shampoos, warm water provided. This is very understanding of The tour office as it can get very sweaty especially on the way trekking back to the office on the final day. We left our suitcases in the office and brought only our backpack to the homestay.

2 local guides were assigned to lead our trekking tour. So and Sa, both are very nice and friendly. They can speak basic English and would share a lot about Hmong people's culture and life. It was eye opening for me. So and Sa make sure we are safe in our 3 days of trekking and nobody gets hurt or left behind. I am grateful for their extra care, as I am not an experienced mountain trekker. There were some paths that are very steep and I wasn't very confident walking up or down those rocky or muddy steps but So and Sa, and at some point, some Hmong ladies would held on my hands to give me some confidence, support and make sure I don't fall off. So also gave us motorbike rides when we were too tired to walk once we reached the tarred roads on our way back to the homestay. Thanks to their care, my friend and I were able to complete the 3 days trekking with no twisted ankles or broken bones. Instead, we could enjoy the beautiful view of Sapa mountains, rivers, rice fields and villages. Do bring along a trekking stick, it can help a lot. Also some muscle ache or joint pain rubs if you are older folks like us.

The homestay - As part of the package, we were arranged to stay in homestay called Indigo. The room is very basic with no fan/aircon/heater (not needed anyway). It has a queen size bed with some space for our backpacks. There are 2 toilets/bathrooms shared with the rest of they homestay members. During our stay, 1 of the bathroom shower head was spoiled but we have no problems sharing the other one. It is good enough for a couple of days. Slippers, warm water shower and towels were provided. Bring your own toileteries. We get to experience what it is like living in a village. Breakfast and dinner is cooked by the homestay and for me, it is simple and delicious. Lunch will be at the other villages. My friend actually brought her own food and snacks for the trip, fearing that we will not be able to handle food from the homestay. But she ended up enjoying the homestay cooked food so much that she didnt consume any of her own snacks. For dinner, hot steam rice were served with plenty of vegetables and meat (pork and chicken). Vegetarian options were available too. For breakfast, there are pan cakes, and if you prefer simple noodles soup, you can make a special request for it too. The communal area/living room is large and cozy. We get to meet many travellers from all over the world and we shared our travelling experiences. We had a good time chatting and laughing together.

To take note - This is something that is unique and take a bit of time to get used to. I expected this as I read about it before but some people may not know. When we trek, there will be 1 or 2 local Black Hmong ladies carrying a heavy bamboo basket of souvenirs following us up and down the mountain and will try to speak to us. Along the way they will also try to assist if we have trouble with the paths. Towards lunch time stopovers or the end of the day, they will try to sell their souvenirs, which some are locally handmade. I understand that life is never easy for villagers, and this is one way for the locals to make some money. The handmade items are colourful and unique (eg bags, pouches, table runners, blankets). As I know how to sew and do cross stitch/embroidery, the handmade items takes a lot of effort and time to put together. You can try to negotiate the price of the items if its beyond your budget. However, if you are not comfortable with them following you or have no intention to support or buy anything, please let them know upfront. This is because they will spend hours walking with you in hope that you will buy something from them later. Otherwise, I feel its no harm to have a chat along the way with them to get to know more about their lives in the village. For me, I definately enjoyed meeting them and getting their help along the way. I have even made a lovely local friend who invited me to her house thats not to far away from my homestay. I get to see her house, her little farm, her grand children and she even let me try on her Hmong traditional costume which she only wears during special occasions like new year. She showed me how the costume is handmade from hem, naturally dyed with Indigo plant and it takes about 1 year to construct the garment without a weaving machine. I am very touched with her sincerity. I hope someday I can visit my good friend again in Sapa.

Overall, I am very happy that I have done my trekking tour with So/Sa from Trekking Tour Sapa. Mau too has been very sweet, helpful and responsive in the administration and communication. I have read a lot about Sinh, the founder but no chance to meet him this trip. Maybe next time, as I will surely come back to this company for another Sapa Trekking Homestay tour. Its value for money and highly recommended.

I had a nice and varied hike with my guide So. we went through rice terraces, forests and over the mountains. The tour was moderate to demanding as described. Our guide gave us a lot of information during the hike. Meals were sufficient and good. The homestay is wonderful. You are in the middle of the life of the locals. It was also very clean and beautiful
