Local bartender recommended this beach. Very quiet. Perfectly still and clear water. Sea turtles swim right by you. Since we were here for a work trip, we didn't get to the beach until 4. We stayed until about 645 pm and it was tricky getting a cab. So, advice would be to get there earlier when cabs are still plentiful.

Our cruise ship docked at Road Town, Tortola, and Brewer‘s Bay was recommended as the best snorkeling beach by the personnel at the taxi information kiosk. Taxi fare was $12 per person each way for our group of 5-6. We arranged a designated pick-up time with our taxi driver, which worked out well. The drive to and from Brewer’s Bay had scenic and beautiful views.
The day we visited was rainy, so the beach was empty and the water visibility was better the farther to the right and offshore you went. Do remember that Tortola was hit hard by 2017’s Hurricane Irma, so there is still a lot of devastation. Beers were $5 each at the Nicole’s Beach Bar, and Nicole’s had a decent restroom.
I’m glad we went, because it gave us a glimpse of less touristy areas of Tortola, but we might try Trellis Bay or Cane Garden Bay next time.

Had a great time, water was beautiful. Sea turtles were adorable. This beach isn't one of the main tourist beaches but so worth checking out.

After exploring a few beaches on st. Thomas, this is our favorite so far. Our condo is on sapphire beach, which is amazing, but the surf is much rougher at sapphire. The water was almost completely still at brewer's, making it a great location for snorkeling or using a mask. Unlike other reviewers, we had no issues leaving our belongings on the sand and just floating in the serene waters, searching for shells. The local food trucks are busy, so if you want the good stuff, be out there before noon for food, otherwise it's hotdogs and import beers.

Go early and have the beach to yourself. No amenities but some of the best snorkeling and calm waters around. Saw turtles close enough to pet!

Mostly locals on the beach. Parking is limited and on the street - if you get there in the morning you’ll be fine. We were there on a Wednesday in June and there was a sweet woman in a food truck - cheap prices. Not crowded at all - there were SO many turtles and a few rays. The sand is hot - if you go to the left you’ll be closer to the water. We say further back under the trees for shade. Don’t forget the bug spray. Wonderful beach day!!!

This beach has crystal clear water, and it’s not rocky. The beach and sand look and smell clean. The area is nicely landscaped, and it is very scenic.

My favorite beach on island! Crystal clear, calm water. Changing rooms. Can watch the sunset over the Caribbean. Minimal to no seaweed. Plenty of sea turtles and lots of fish. Great snorkeling. You can also watch the planes come and go as its located next to the runway.

We took a small group guided snorkeling adventure. The beach was uncrowded and we were able to see turtles. Beach is mainly used by locals so nice and quiet although close to the airport.

We had a few hours prior to leaving St Thomas and decided to try Brewer's Bay. Very convenient, clean, soft sand, not crowded and decent areas of foliage to escape the sun when needed. Water was beautiful and if you enjoy a plane landing/taking off every so often, it's a fun spot for kids. Not complaining at all about the planes, just understand there is some activity but minimal. No amenities so bring your own stuff!

I’m staying on St John but my flight home is at 5:00 pm now that delta keeps moving it. My wife, son and I are looking for a spot to kill time before our flight and we are considering Brewers Bay. Would there happen to be a location to leave our luggage while we enjoy one last snorkel? Or does anyone know of a location to leave our luggage safely near the airport

for those who have been here recently...is there beer available at the food truck or close by? Washrooms close? This looks like a nice quiet beach (which I love) but my husband will want beer. Also will there be a problem getting back to the cruise port?

We are leaving Saturday for a cruise that stops in St Thomas. Brewer's Bay sounds very attractive to us. How big is the hill to get to the beach from the UVI? How did you arrange transportation back to the port?

I`ve heard that some of the "buses" try to charge you taxi prices to get around the Island. how can we avoid this and just pick out a bus. I wonder If the fares are still just $1 ?

We were there in August and it was $1. It was difficult to tell the local bus from the charter shuttles. Basically if one pulled up we'd ask how much, if they said didn't say $1 we said we'd wait. Then locals arrived and we looked to them for help. I think they did have some kind a licence or designation, but it was difficult to spot. If it's freshly painted and shiny, and full of tourists, it's probably a taxi.
Taking a cruise to st. Thomas, heard there was sea glass at Brewers beach, can any confirm that?
How long does it take to get from the cruise port to Brewers beach?

We're visiting next week. Do you know what a taxi would cost from the cruise ship port? Not sure how long you were there - maybe just a day visit like us.
Thanks for the helpful review.
