Mudukuthore Mallikarjuna Temple is a Temple associated with the Tala-kadu legend and is a pilgrimage center. The main deity is that of Shiva (Linga) and is worshiped as one of the Pancha-Lingas associated with Talakadu.

Sri Pahhaleshwara (Talakadu)
Sri Vaidhyeshwara (Talakadu)
Sri Maraleshwara (Talakadu)
Sri Mudukuthore Mallikarjuna Swamy (Mudukuthore)
Sri Arkeshwara Swamy (near Talakadu)

Situated atop a hill, the temple is quite a famous landmark and is frequented throughout the year. But every 12 years, the Panch-Linga festival draws devotees from all over Karnataka.

Access to this temple is through Kanakapura highway or if you are taking the Mysuru Highway, then you can cut across from Madduru and reach Kollegala - Mudukuthore.

One can opt to take the steps from the foot of the hill or drive to a parking stop which leaves another 100 steps to the temple. Try not to get pushed into being givena bracelet in exchange for a dakshina of course. There are other Vendors on the stairs as well. But the covered walkway and the steps lead to probably on the best views of the area. You can see the winding Kaveri beautifully lined with multi-colored trees. Very nice temple and a calm atmosphere. The only sore point being the commercialization and push to buy this and that. Steer clear and just pray. The temple itself is well worth the visit. The climb down is over very steep steps.

This temple is not located exactly at Talakadu, but at Mudukutore, which can be reached by a taking a detour from the Mysuru- Talakadu road. The temple is located on a hill and can be accessed by a pathway of covered steps, leading up. The vehicle can go up to certain height from where the visitors can join the steps above midway.
The temple appeared immensely popular among the locals and the pilgrims. Not many tourists visit this temple.
Beautiful view of river Kaveri is visible from the temple.

This place can be visited as part of Talakadu visit. Vehicles can go upto a certain distance and from there one needs to walk on steps which are not difficult to reach the main temple of Sri Mallikarjuna.
From the top you get a very good view of the Cauvery river which forms a curvature and the paddy field around is a breathtaking.
Its a day visit from Bengaluru if you are planning to visit Talakadu and Somanathpura.
No shops or restaurants here,so carry your food if required.

This temple is one of the "Panchalinga Temples", and is located in avillage by name "Mudukothore" near Talakadu. One needs to climb about 200-250 steps to reach the temple. The scene from the top is mesmerizing, and one could see total greenery all around. I could even make out the course of river Cauvery from atop the hill. There is parking space for about 6-8 cars, and the road that leads to the temple is a bit narrow, and one needs to a bit extra careful while going through this narrow stretch.
