We seven people visited this place on 13th May we participated in the Evening Aarti at 5.00 PM after taking bath in Tapat kund ( a hot water spring). Very amazing to take bath in just like boiling water. When gets eternal piece at this place A must visit temple

Temple is very beautiful set amongst mountains and near river alaknanda.
In May and June the place is very crowded you will have to wait for 5-6 hours to enter the temple and once you enter police and pandits at temple will push you and throw you out of temple. You cannot even have a glance or even offer pasand. Darshan is impossible.
You should go during rains in July and August and do darshan peacefully after risking your life on dangerous roads.
Plus traffic during May and June is unimaginable plus the route is long. If it's showing 12 hours it will take 15-16 hours to reach badrinath.

it is one of the chota Char Dhams (four important pilgrimages) in the state, namely Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, collectively known as Char Dham.
The pre-eminent abode of Lord Vishnu is one of the holiest of the holy shrines of the Char Dham pilgrimage in India. Other Char Dham sites include Dwarka, Puri, and Rameswaram.
Badarinath is also one of the holy shrines for Vaishnavites among the 108 divya desams incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Badrinath town is also part of Panch Badri temples including Yog Dhyan Badri, Bhavishya Badri, Adi Badri, and Vriddha Badri, along with Badrinath temple.
this sacred town lies between the Nar and Narayana mountain ranges. The temple is believed to have been established by sage Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century.
The main entrance gate of Badarinath temple is colourful and imposing popularly known as Singhdwar.
According to legend, Shankara discovered a black stone image of Lord Badarinarayan made of Saligram stone in the Alaknanda River. He originally enshrined it in a cave near the Tapt Kund hot springs. In the sixteenth century, the King of Garhwal moved the murti to the present location of the temple. It represents Lord Vishnu seated in a meditative pose called Padmasan.
One legend has it that when goddess Ganga was requested to descend to earth to help the suffering humanity, the earth was unable to withstand the force of her descent. Therefore the mighty Ganga (Ganges) was split into twelve holy channels, with Alaknanda being one of them which flows near to temple.
it is also said that the Pandavas of the holy epic Mahabharata climbed via 'Swargarohini, popularly known as the ascent to heaven, and Mana town, north of Badrinath while on their route to heaven.

This is one of the char main dhans as planned by Adhi Shankaracharya and also part of chota char dham of Uttarakhand.
We had the blessings of Badrinathji to be part of the Vishnu Sahasranama chanting at 6 pm and Sayan Aarathi at 8.30 pm.
Could sit for 45 minutes each in front of the Lord and get HIS blessings.
This temple is one of the 108 Divya Deasm

plenty of hotels nearby for around 1500 Rupees per night , go early morning and expect long queues. You can book hotels on the day - unlikely you can book online in advance . If travelling by taxi , you can get driver to drop you very close to the temple - which is then a short 15 mins walk to the temple , unlike Kedernath mandir , which is only accessible via pony; trekking or helicopter .
Once inside the main temple compound , there are various side entrances to get dharshan, so check which entrance has shortest queue.
We had great dharshans so definitely a must visit if coming to Kedernath, although it is a day's taxi ride away.
Plenty of places to eat at reasonable prices. Acceptance of online payment and credit cards very low so remember to carry plenty of cash with you as did not see any banks or ATM's.

Namaskar, do we need to purchase tickets for arti and abhishek of lord badrinath or is there any way by which we can attend it on the spot as general devotees? Are there any pandas who get you to these rituals by taking some fee? Moreover, what is the difference between mahabhishek and abhishek at the badinath temple? Thanks!
