We travelled to Vailankanni to visit our Lady of Good Health Church. It is a magnificent structure with alluring atmosphere. Mass is in the mornings with timings and the languages put up on a board in front of the Church.
It is situated near the beach road and the Church premises are huge. Only cash is accepted for purchasing articles from the Church store. There is parking for your vehicles.

Pilgrim from all over india assemble here for prayer, first saturday procession resemble procession in lourde France, children offer hair after tonsure, hair is used to make wig for cancer patients

I just want to inform everyone and the church that there is a couple of 2 people 1 old woman and a young guy wearing smart and asking everybody money as they want to go back to Bangalore

A beautiful Church and place of pilgrimage, where people from all over the country come to pay homage to Mother Mary the Mother of Christ. The church is very beautiful and well maintained. A peaceful and blessed place of worship for Catholics and people of all communities. Had an opportunity to visit this church with my family and will definitely make another trip sometime soon.

Best prayer service, lovely and clam place for prayers. Do visit when you visit Velankanni Madha Church.

We stayed at Velankini to visit Point Calimere sanctuary. We visited the Basilica as we had time at hand. Little from point of architecture, but the markets and food stalls around Basilica were a big plus. We could also note mix of Indian and Christian customs… It’s fun watching the markets in the evening.
There is ample parking available. And ample food joints in and around…

Velankanni has one of the country's biggest Catholic pilgrimage centers, the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health. Devoted to Our Lady of Good Health we landed at Chennai Airport and the drive from Chennai took about 10 hours. The Church and the surrounding is very peaceful and prayerful. .

Velankanni is small fisherman's village in south India. The Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health has long history. It is very popular for pilgrims prayers and requests not only for the Catholics but also it is open for other religious.
I want there on first week of October 2018. Now I am adding this note on late of the July 2019. I believe that visiting at least once in Velankanni is worth for your life.

Prayers and the look of adoration in the eyes of the people is an experience to behold. When you leave the church after praying you feel different.

Visited the church to thank the Lady of Good Health for a personal reason. The place is clean and well organised. Devotees sit on the floor unlike the benches that you typically see in churches. We took in a flower garland and a candle and they accepted them neatly. Nice place to visit and I wish we had the peace and quiet. The preacher was full on and I struggled to gather my thoughts a bit!
