This is a great swimmable beach. The views and scenery are beautiful. It's a small beach, but it is a great option instead of driving the road to Maracas Bay.

This is a beautiful bay with views out towards Venezuela. You could imagine a pirate ship anchored to take shelter. It was really beautiful, surrounded by rainforest which includes howler monkeys and a variety of birdlife. The beach doesn't have that much sand area for lounging. There is enough for children to play sandcastles.
The water was calm and although it was clear, it was also tinged brown from the tannins from the runoff from the rainforest. There was easy parking and this is still an easy drive from Port of Spain for a quick swim. There was a cafe near the car park but it wasn't open when we were there. There was also a life saving hut which was manned but I don't know what training the life savers might get in Trinidad & Tobago.

On the North coast of Trinidad, in the Chaguaramas peninsula. The road to the beach is a lovely drive through a bamboo ‘forest’. At the end of the road is a car park , TT $20 fee. Additional fees for access to the changing room/toilets. There is also a small canteen in the parking area.
The beach is accessed by a steep downhill walkway. Much of the lovely beach is now concreted over with a retaining wall , presumably to prevent erosion/landslides. The small sandy beach is surrounded by lush green tropical forest on all sides. The clear water , gritty sand and vegetation make for a tranquil bathing spot.
The beach drops very quickly to a great depth and currents are present. So be careful if going in . Great for divers .Lots of fish to see , even in the shallow water close to shore.
All the locals we met were friendly , but because of the isolated location, it can feel intimidating if you’re not in a group. There are no storage facilities for valuables on the beach so be careful.
Worth a visit for the stunning scenery.

Still the best option for quick dip in the West - in my own opinion. Security is always a concern but I had planned to turn back if it was too quiet, but didnt have to. Water was great. Lots of schools of small fish!
Facilities clearly still need some attention. Should be marketed different to other beaches. Still has potential.

Beautiful view and peaceful. Water was warm and very clean and clear blue. Perfect for a hot summer day and relaxation with the family.

HI All
It started of relatively easy but the walk started to get intense and steep. I will not advise to go if you are not in some sort of physical activity... it was very uncomfortable walking.. i did not enjoy it... this walk is very intense and should be done by gym persons... i nearly fainted...

I guess while all on the island was busy preparing a mouthwatering lunch, my friends and I decided an early morning swim was an excellent idea.
The beach is gorgeous. The facility is well kept and quite visitor friendly. The carpet was spacious and the descent down the steps was easier than the ascent.
Basically, this beach is a cove...a well-kept secret. The waves, the scenery was amazing.
For the kids, the high point had schools of fish eat crumbs of their snack while the bathed.
Absolutely wonderful. If you're a swimmer, you will appreciate the calmness of this cove.
The zip line was closed of course. But the facility was still peaceful and had a lot to offer. I took this picture on the stairs as we got down to the beach.
This picture speaks a million words.

This cove is where the US Navy kept submarines during WWII. It is absolutely gorgeous. There is a lovely beach that remains shallow for about 15-20 feet out and then there’s a very steep drop off. The currents can be strong as well. There are lifeguards during park opening hours.
If you’re a good swimmer, it’s quite a nice experience.
