Wonderful small group excursion

A wonderful alternative to the traditional shore excursion! With only 12 participants, this felt like a private adventure. The Warden was a fun boat to travel in. We cruised past mangroves, Pelican Island (yes, lots of pelicans) and Turtle Island (yes - turtles) before landing at the Great Bird Island. We climbed to the top of the island to enjoy spectacular views, then returned to the beach to gear up for snorkeling. The water was crystal clear and we actually saw some very healthy-looking coral as well as numerous fish. We returned to the island for a delicious Creole lunch before heading back to our ship. I felt sorry for our captain, who had a second group coming in while we were still on the island. There was an employee from that cruise ship who was on the trip and she was complaining loudly about things which really were not issues. But for that disruption (which wasn't the captain's fault), this was one of the most enjoyable shore excursions we've experienced, and we've been on numerous cruises. Highly recommend this day in Antigua.

Fantastic trip

We used The Birds Nest to travel to Great Bird Island (I think there are other tour companies you can use). 1 268-727-6378 /Thebirdsnest21@hotmail.com Mrs. Benjamin hooked me up with a driver to pick us up at the ship port (Tony - I also recommend him). It was a Great day trip. Probably the best excursion we've ever taken. We went in March 2023. My husband and I were the only passengers booked. They did not cancel. The captain was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. Once on the island, we climbed to the to where we saw whales in the distance. Later had a delicious lunch and then snorkeled til early afternoon. With the assistance of the captain I was able to snorkel for quite some time. I am not a good swimmer. He used his rescue float to pull me thru the ocean. we were able to see the endangered racer snake. I would highly recommend this trip.

Cute deserted beach on private island

We visited this beach on a stop with Creole Boat Tours and it was nice....great for pictures, lunch, and shallow swimming. There were tons of birds on the island. We were only able to stay on the small beach because the island is privately owned and tourists face hefty fines if they explore it.

Beautiful isolated beaches and fantastic coral

Beautiful island. Quiet beaches only accessible by private boat or on a shared trip. Two beaches and the south one has beautiful coral and it is in good condition. Take your own food and drink. Nothing on the island. Can pay to go upto the view point and how hole. Stunning views from up there and helps fund the up keep.

Calypso Cat layover

Great stop at this island for lunch on the Calypso Cat. Lunch was delicious, and Danielle's painkiller punch was hard to beat.

Fantastic. Saw 2 snakes during our stay - one waiting patiently for prey. One with a lizard in its grip.
Good facilities on the island. Safe walkways. Great views from the top of the island.
Conservation at centre of the visit.
Great snorkling around the bays

Stunning Beach, Island and View

It was a swimming, hiking and lunch stop on our Adventure Antigua boat tour. No food or restrooms on the island except for trees and bushes. The lunch and restroom was on the Adventure Antigua Tours boat. It is a 20 acre island on the North side of Antigua only accessible by boat. Great beach and swimming Harbour on South side of this small island. Very nice white sand beach with close sandbars and surrounding coral reef. It was named Great Bird Island by early sailors who were amazed by the extensive bird population. Now it is the only place where the Antiguan Races snake can still be seen in the wild. However, during our guided eco hike to the top of the island for the amazing view, we only saw a picture of the snake. The hike is short, but good shoes make it easier to climb up and down. Beautiful Island

We visited this island as part of our Eco Tour. We enjoyed snorkelling, a fantastic lunch on the beach and lovely walk to the top of the island to see fantastic views. Highly recommended, especially as part of Antigua’s Eco tour boat trip.

Our family did the 'Half Day Eco Tour' from Shoretrips.com & visited Bird Island as part of the trip.

It was so beautiful! The hike to the top was fun & the views were spectacular!

We were also able to snorkel here for a bit & it was really nice. The beach is lovely & there was a woman and girl who had a cabana set up with snacks, drinks & souvenirs to purchase. They were very friendly & we enjoyed the banana bread we bought from them.

This excursion was our favorite & would highly recommend it! We would definitely do this one again.
