Got taken here by our guide Danny. So pleased he chose this place for us to chill on the beach and have some cocktails and some lunch. I like cocktails to say the least, so I know what I’m talking about. The Treehouse cocktails were simply the best I’ve had in years of different countries in various resorts and these were the best! Another thing that was the best was their Jerk Chicken. Juicy and succulent that just melted in your mouth. The sauce was out of this world, so had to buy some and bring it back to the Uk. Since being back, I’ve made jerk a few times and can’t get it as good as Mommas! I’ll keep trying. 😂 if you’re in Negril, lunch and cocktails are a must at the Tree house!

A huge thank you to Johnny for taking me and my family on his Glass Bottom boat for the best excursion. I met Johnny through a local, as we weren’t staying directly at Negril Treehouse. We took a short taxi there from our resort, and we are so glad we did and didn’t overpay for the crowded and quick excursion from our resort for half the time and triple the price. Johnny was the MOST reasonably priced and fair, honest captain who wasn’t trying to hustle and overcharge tourists. He was kind, took time with us to explore, and did not rush us at all. After taking us out in the Coral Reef, his co-captain took us snorkeling and went with us to be sure we were in the right areas and got the most out of our snorkeling excursion. Then he took us to the tiny, private island where we could see the beautiful island of Jamaica from a different perspective. The island was beautiful, and had a few local chefs that caught fresh lobster and crab. We were able to choose a live lobster and/or crab and then they cooked it to perfection on the grill (bring cash, it isn’t cheap but happy to support the local economy and hard working entrepreneurs of Jamaica). We had an amazing time and not only will recommend Johnny to our friends, but we look forward to coming back next year for another excursion. Even if you aren’t staying at Negril Treehouse, it is worth the drive to go there to depart for your excursion. And if you are staying at Negril Treehouse or right nearby, lucky you. Thank you Johnny.

The staff was very helpful in all capacities. Room was reasonably priced and very clean. Close to beach and walking distance to restaurants. Highly recommend!

This was our first visit to Jamaica and our first visit to Negril Treehouse Resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our tranquil, comfortable stay at the Treehouse! It seemed that all the guests we met are regulars, returning every year to Jamaica and every year to the Treehouse Resort. We understand why they feel that way: the staff and owner treat everyone like returning family members.
The beach is lovely! The chairs and seating area are cleaned and re-set every morning. Towels are provided. A number of umbrellas are available for shade, but you should claim chairs with your towels before breakfast. There is a large tree providing shade at the back of the seating area if all umbrellas are taken. Great for those with young kids or who simply prefer to be out of the intense sun for a while.
There is a buffet breakfast every morning, presented in a very relaxed setting on the shaded upper deck with pleasant service from the staff. Eggs cooked as requested, hot buffet items that rotate each day, plus cuts of fresh fruit, juice, and coffee are all included. It allows you to enjoy a light lunch or snack during the day, and then choose a restaurant for dinner: arrange a taxi to the cliffs for Ivan's or Ixtaba or the Rockhouse, walk north or south on the beach to another resort, or stay onsite and eat outside and enjoy the sunset at the Treehouse's beachside restaurant.
It could be a consequence of the Covid restrictions and paperwork for travel, but it seemed that annual guests were the only ones who made the trip in Feb 2022. The first half of our stay was very quiet. Later in the week some guests arrived who were a little more boisterous around the rooms, but we were amazed and pleased that everyone quieted down by 11pm. Even the road noise quieted down at night. If you had one of the rooms facing the street, you can expect traffic to be rolling by 8am except on Sundays.
The rooms are nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. The rooms are not huge or expansive, but adequate space for two persons and their stuff. Water pressure in showers was weak when others in the building were also showering, but pretty good pressure when no one else was tapping water at the same time. Shower water was always hot, though. Cleaning staff very thoughtful and accommodating to your schedule.
For first time visitors to Jamaica, as we were, you might need to adjust to the constant presence of beach vendors selling food, drinks, hats, bracelets, marijuana, fresh fruit, a song, etc. Usually a cheerful "no, thank you" is adequate to send them on. However, don't feel shy about making a purchase (and bargaining a little on the price). They are trying to earn a living and you will recognize the regulars there every day.
There is a shopping center across Norman Manley Blvd that has a pastry shop where you can get an inexpensive patty or hotdog or muffin as a lunch snack. There is also an ATM there for getting JAM$. About 500 yds north on NM Blvd there is a Mini Market with a small selection of snacks and drinks at reasonable prices. The lobby of Treehouse and snack shop across the Treehouse parking area also have cold drinks in a pinch, but at double the price. [FYI: On the beach resorts area everything can and likely will be charged in US$; in the shops on NM Blvd and other places you could pay in JAM$ cash for a better price.]
The Treehouse set up an outdoor TV screen for the Super Bowl, so we were able to watch the game on the beach; free popcorn was provided to guests as well!
Pros:
- lovely beach
- super breakfast buffet
- pleasant staff (servers, maintenance, cleaning--all of them were very nice)
- reasonable price
- flexible choices for evening dining within walking distance
- rooms have lovely porches and outside tables for sitting outside (but staying out of the rain or midday sun)
- amenities walking distance (restaurants, convenience store, snacks, ATM)
- taxis can be arranged on site; there are always a couple taxis near the lobby (shout-out to William--recommended)
- pleasant guests respectful of others
- snorkeling and other tours can be arranged at the resort from 3rd party vendors
- difficult to come up with a list of "Cons" below!
Cons
- room was a little dim at night; could use another lamp; we requested one but none appeared
- no kayaks or paddleboards. This would be a "nice-to-have" for quiet mornings, but not really an expectation. Tip: if you go up to Beaches all-inclusive, you might be allowed to use a kayak for a tip to the beach staff if you are not wearing your Treehouse bracelet
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Treehouse Resort and would gladly return again on our next visit to Jamaica!

Our honeymoon needed to be replanned in just 24 hours due to COVID. Little did we know the Treehouse would exceed our expectations to such a degree. From the wonderful lodging to the staff that became like family, every experience was amazing. They took care of us as though we’d been regulars from the moment we arrived. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, the meals are to die for, and the staff treats you like one of their own. We cannot wait to return!

I don't think I have written a review on Negril on here in a while (but I have on Booking!!). What can I say? I love that spot, love Gail, and havebeen going there for 13 years now! I think it's the greatest spot for solo travelers, and those that also don't want to be with the overcrowd further down the 7-mile beach. I always enjoy their full buffet of breakfast,w hich lasts you throughout the afternoon, and snacks in between. I normally leave out the gates and explore the city, and visit other dining areas --- Best in the West!! So a good way to enjoy the culture and little town of Negril, and the people! Negril Treehouse is always clean, very well kept, and I have seen some of the same faces for the last 13 years now, which really makes me happy, and why it feels like home there! Ive used the same taxi service and gentleman as a driver the last 13 years, I have nothing but great things to day about this spot! I would give a room number to check out, but it's a small private spot, and rooms fill up quickly! You can't go wrong with NTH!

We went to the Yreehouse twice on our trip and they didnt disappointment! We arrived and Tony Montana guided us to a great section of the beach where we were introduced to our server. She quickly took our orders and rattled off the menu for lunch. She brought our drinks and we were off to the ocean! They returned to offer massages and water sports which we accepted! We went snorkling the first day and returned for massages. Andrea and aodette were FANTASTIC massage therapists who you should look out for! We returned a few days later we enjoyed another massage! I havent had a better massage ina spa in the US!
Did i mention the food? It was excellent BOTH times! Authentic Jamaican fare. Jerk Chicken the first go around with rice and cabbage....excellent for all 4 of us! The second time around, fish, shrimp and oxtails to die for. This place is clean, Covid-19 sensitive, safe and very clean. The service was impeccable. Visit here....you will not be disappointed. We'll be back!

My story about the Treehouse starts in New Jersey .I was in Covid lockdown for 3 months alone . Then I found Gail and her lookie Loo FaceTimes every day ,, I already had a trip to Negril booked . It was cancelled . But everyday I watched her live Facebook posts . I watched with the sail boat saga .. it really helped me get thru those dark times . I promised myself , when I got to Jamaica , I would make a point to go to the Treehouse and give Gail my business as a thank you . Well today I did just that .. Our bartender Stacy was the nicest girl so polite and kind . It was a wonderful spot to sit back relax and enjoy some drinks . Gail unfortunately was not there . But we had such an enjoyable day . The place has its own personality . You can tell all the staff enjoy their jobs . It was my pleasure to spend my day there . Next trip I will stay there .

I have been going to the Treehouse for about 10 years, and it has only gotten better. There is something magical about being able to roll out of bed and walk 50 feet to the beach. Everyone i've encountered at the Treehouse and on the Negril beach has been a gem and often times a character. Gotta love it! The breakfast is included. It's top notch, extremely diversified and offers a taste off local Jamaican foods and meals. The staff is great and very friendly, anything you may need they will help you obtain. I'm so glad i've been going to the Treehouse for as long as I have and I certainly plan on going every year.

You mention a live band at 17.00. How long did the band play? Does that happen every day? Is it a quiet and peaceful place of one of those resort that tries not turn every evening into party-time?
Thanks!

I'm wondering if we can book direct with the hotel. Through Expedia, they can't confirm a room with 2 beds, and we're 2 gal-pals traveling together. Does anyone know? If you can answer today 11/14, I'd appreciate it. We'd be happy to call direct.

I am looking forward to my first ever trip to the Caribbean and have a few practical questions. I was planning to use my carry-on as a tote for the beach stocked with water bottle, book, camera, towel (figure I have to take my own?), glasses, etc. Can I leave it somewhere nearby when I want to walk the beach without going back to my room? How do you and how much do you tip the housekeeping staff? I read somewhere that you had to give it to the housekeeper--not leave it in your room. Thanks very much for your help!

The hotel provides towels - one per guest. We left our towels and supplies on the hotel loungers when in the water and never had a problem. Lots of security at Treehouse. Sand gets into everything so you might want to have a secondary bag for the beach unless you don't mind sand in your carry on. I had a netted beach bag that worked so well as it could get wet and dirty and recover quickly. We provided cash tips ($5/day) in our room for housekeeping. Not sure if that was incorrect. Housekeeping cleans the balcony outside your room even if you have your do-not-disturb sign up, FYI.

Hello. We are considering booking at Sunset, and are concerned about mosquitos and the Chikungunya virus. What is the resort doing to reduce the numbers of mosquitos?
Thank you!
