The Rude Locals here HATE tourists. Hate White people. They say to be sure to tell them Good Morning!! Why do I need to be so nice to Terribly Rude and selfish people? The customer service here.... Favorite word....." NO" The Restaurants that are operated by NON-Locals, are fine. Everywhere else on this island is terrible. 1 block in from the beach and you will be in the Ghetto Slums.
Praying that you don't get robbed or shot. Forget going to ANY store after dark.
Oh,,,,,, The bad ones usually are up all night. so morning isn't safe either.
DO NOT WALK ANYWHERE!!!!! No matter what time of day. Ive been living here for 6 months Govt here is corrupt...….Police is govt.
The locals here want all the tourist to go away so they can return to an Agricultural Island. Smoke weed all day and just hang out. Not sure who will run the farms for them...……. They don't want you here.
Want a nice Beach Vacation? Go to Florida.

There just isn't much happening on an ordinary afternoon and early evening. The boardwalk is pleasant though and worth the stroll.

Excellent boardwalk, modern and safe, with lots of activities to choose from - bars, restaurants, water excursions, shops. This was fun and relaxing and you won't have major pain in the wallet after a trip here. There is some public parking for free near Angry Nates. If you can attend a "Jump Up" (a night time street party occurring about once every two months) that is a huge bonus!

The Markets of Christiansted are Great.
NOT a Money Pit (like down town St. Thomas), very relaxed shopping and wonderful bargains.
Love walking the shops of Christiansted and you would too.

Good place to visit while you are downtown Christiansted. Good to rediscover the history. Good place for anyone to visit, and its not too big. Benches to sit outside Great to take pics. Also on the water.

My feeling about visiting St Croix is that it is definitely a adult vacation spot Christiansted is full of place's to party. Had great time playing bingo at the Tamarind Reef Resort and snorkeling .Stayed with friends on the Island so can not give a review on lodging but there is everything from small rooms to renting houses and some of these houses are "enormous". FOOD is expensive ! Booze is relatively cheap and if you do Island style you will be a bit high quickly they are very free with the pouring .Was there for the St Patrick frolicking and was just that .Lots of music an dancing. Bars totally full but did not feel crowded as there are quite a few .I was designated driver but still had a good time . Definitely get a car and drive it is on the "wrong side" of the road if you are from the states but the cars are wheel on left and you get use to it very quickly. Being a small Island you can go to the most eastern point to the rainforest on the other side. Take the back roads lots of interesting places to stop at that are not listed in the "tourist" books BUT be careful ! I was with locals and was told that tourist like in any country are targeted by the unscrupulous. If you like fish Dashi in Christiansted was fantastic, best food I had there, if the locals don't go out, there is no fresh fish. Frederiksted has a nice market with local artist when a cruise ship docks. And Chistiansted has many small shops with local art ,books and crafts. Go sailing, horseback riding ,kayaking lots to do ENJOY.

We stopped in Christiansted for an hour of shopping while on a tour. It is pretty and quaint.
We enjoyed strolling down by the water. We stopped for some ice cream. We finally found a gift shop and I bought a beautiful hook bracelet made by a local artisan.
Everyone was very friendly and no one hassled us to buy anything.
We enjoyed our stop but there is very limited shopping compared to other ports.

One of the highlights of our trip was when we stopped in at Chaney Chicks and spoke to Gretchen, one of the owners. Gretchen shared her knowledge and passion and pointed us to the right beach to find our own sea glass. After spending a lovely morning sea glass "fishing", we returned to Chaney Chicks and met Denise, the other owner. Denise is just as fabulous as Gretchen and wrapped our treasures in silver wire. She also shared her passion and expertise, sending us out yet again to hunt for treasure. These two special ladies made our trip to St. Croix very memorable and FUN! Thank you Denise and Gretchen (and Linda on Wednesday) for being such great ambassadors and teaching us something new. Go in, talk to these ladies, you won't regret it.

Not a big town, and not a lot of shopping, but there are definitely neat things to check out and just enjoy a stroll through the historical village and market. The "St. Croix Yellow" is most prevalent in the town of Christiansted. If nothing else, go and breathe in the yellow, a hue which you will never forget and from the point you see it forward, you will always associate it with STX.

Spent an hour in Christiansted while on a tour of St. Croix. There wasn't a lot to see, but it was very peaceful and relaxing. While walking around, there was a substantial downpour, so we stopped into a local shop to wait it out. There was no hassle to buy anything, in fact we talked more about the jazz cruise we were on than anything else.

After about spending an hour in town, we left town and went to the none rain, rainforest.
