Eì stata la prima spiaggia che abbiamo visitato perchè vicinissima al paese. Si gode un bel panorama sull'isola del paradiso e sul faro che svetta sulla sua punta estrema ad ovest

Esta é uma Praia Pública em New Providence, bem acessível via West Bay Rd indo para o oeste após a Arawak Cay. Tem estacionamento amplo e fica ao lado de um parque de brinquedos de criança.
É uma praia bonita, não paradisíaca, aparentemente de locais. São duas bacias separadas por pedras, mas no dia que fomos tinha bastante alga no mar e na areia.
Fica bem ao lado da avenida e perto de um posto de gasolina, bem perto do porto.
Ela é bem sossegada e tem banheiros públicos. Gostosa para dar uma boa caminhada por toda a sua extensão.
Recomendo a visita se for ficar alguns dias em New Providence. Bem gostosa esta praia!

Beach about an hour walk from the downtown area, but you walk along the fish fry to get there. Lots of little snails and hermit crabs near the beach.

What I liked about it is that it is very quiet and there’s not a lot of people. It is very pretty but there’s a busy road behind you and industrial oil wells to the right of you. I just sat with my back to the oil wells and then you feel like you’re on a private island. However, you can hear the sounds of the trucks on the street behind you. There were rock formations and by kids were able to find some wildlife on those.

We stayed in an Airbnb in the subdivision right behind this beach, so we spent most days there. No crowds ever. Some days we would literally be the only 2 people for hours. Good sand, swimming, and public washrooms, plus security guards. We loved it!

We made the choice to do a quiet, inexpensive outing during this port stop on our Royal Caribbean cruise. As a family of 6, this was a perfect solution.
The hardest part was getting out of the labyrinth of the cruise port (and being nearly accosted and followed in attempts to sell us things) and finding the jitney "station" which was near an ice cream store a little ways from the straw market. We hopped on the number 10 and told the driver where we were headed. It stopped right at a shell gas station right across the street from the beach.
We nearly had the entire beach to ourselves. There was a playground and small restroom area. The beach was guarded by two security guards (who even chased away a couple stray dogs for us). The sand and water were very clean minus some seaweed areas.
We stayed for about 90 minutes for just some quiet beach time before heading back to the ship. We stood next to the road by the bathrooms and soon a jitney #10 came by, flashed their lights, we waved, and they stopped so we could get on. We road it all the way back to their waiting area near the straw market.
It was a peaceful and cheap excursion for us! Plus you get a taste of local culture! We actually felt much safer here than we did in the cruise port area!

Loved it here! The highlight of our cruise to the Bahamas.
There was a security guard in the parking lot, a rest room attendant (no TP though!) and a Shell station for snacks across the street, plenty of trash cans, and beautiful water with beautiful views of the island where they do sting ray and dolphin excursions.
You can take the #10 or #12 purple bus back to the port terminal for $1.50 US per person if you need. The buses came by every 15-20 minutes on Christmas Eve.
Best choice to come here! We would do it again.

Nice beach to stop by and enjoy some beach time. There is a restroom here and a playground. There was also security there.

We walked a short distance to this peaceful beach from our apartment. There was one small group there with us. No one else except for a rasta fisherman further away down the beach. Security patrol this area and there were very few vendors around to pester you to buy island crafts. A few motor boats could be seen from the shore, but they in no way interfered with this tranquil area. The water was gentle and a good place for families with small children. There are convenience stores and fast food franchises near this beach. Hope everyone does not hear about this beach or it will get crowded, too!!

At Saunders Beach you can swim with the fish. The water is crystal clear so that you can always see the sand. You don't have to worry about sharks or such. Also, there are always beach vendors willing to provide/sell snacks, etc.

Have 6 hours layover.
Will it be good idea go spend time on the beach.
How long it usually takes from airport by taxi ,and wat the average rate for a taxi.

I felt safe there. It was just a few minutes outside of town. The main road is right by as well as a gas station/convenience store. There was no one selling items on the beach or soliciting. It was quiet mid morning until the afternoon when more families found it.

Hi everyone that has been to Saunder's beach. we will be in Nassau in a few weeks (March 14th). we are a family of 4 with 2 smaller children (5 and 9). Is this a good beach for kids, no undertow, waves etc at that time of year? Also looking for a beach that is quieter but still has somewhere to eat and drink for cheap.
