Stayed up the road at Shaw Farm and happened on this gem.

Various playgrounds for all children and lots of green space.

Toilets were clean and accessible.

Shame there was no café though. Small walk into New Mills though, there were loads of places to grab a coffee.

Lea Park is just off St Mary Road in New Mills town Center. If coming from Marple along Haig Bar its a nasty left turn so go to the min roundabout and come back on yourself and turn right or simply park in New Mills and walk the short distance.
the entrance is just past a lovely church and to get to the park turn left at the toilets or to go to the orchard turn right.
The park is really pleasant and ideal for children with activities to play on.
There are some tracks to go down but I don't recommend them as they are on a cliff edge with deep drops into the quarry below so be warned. Great place to spend some time on a sunny day

While recently in this area we discovered the park which we hadn’t seen before. Very pleasantly surprised how well it is being kept particularly in these difficult times. The variety of equipment for children is impressive (unfortunately not in use as the moment due to Covid 19) but under normal circumstances I imagine it’s a great asset to the community. The views from the orchard are stunning. Well done to the staff for still keeping the park in such good condition and hopefully it will not be long before everyone can use the whole of the facilities again.

It is quite a large park and There are lots of different playthings, suitable for most ages. Even some adult workout machines. Well kept lawns and shrubs, unusual in these days of cutbacks. Maybe local volunteers help. There is limited parking and sometimes you have to walk a few streets to get there.

I when to the one world festival with my friends first off there is a good entertainment for kids who are young they have a bubble man, face paint and more fun. Also things for adults as well food and beer is served I recommend going with family or friends because the entertainment can keep the kids busy while you can watch the band best to get there early being camping Chair and picnic blanket so you can relax while watching the entertainment

A very good park. There's a field to play cricket, a decent size park, with a big slide, a zip wire and outdoor gym. It's the best outdoor gym I have been to on a park.
The community orchard is on this park and is a nice walk.

I've been visiting this park for years with my children but over the last few years with all the new improvements it really is a fantastic park. Lots of variety for the kids that suit young and older children. There is also the woods to play in and the community orchard is a short walk from the main park.

We took our 5- and 8-year old children to this park during a holiday in the Peak District. It was one of the highlights of the holiday and we went back twice. It has more play equipment than any other park we've visited, really well-designed to fit in with the landscape (such as the huge slide built in to a hill), and surrounded in lovely gardens landscaping.

We parked on the street at the top of the park and then worked our way down through the park. We spent an hour just using all of the equipment including loads of outdoor gym machines. Then we walked down into the town and after buying loads of bargain CDs from the second-hand book/CD shop we went for a fabulous lunch at the Pride of the Peaks pub. We then walked it off by making our way to the Millennium Walkway via the train station, then followed the Torrs walk which was gorgeous. Then back up through the park so the kids could have some more time playing.

It was a fabulous day and free! If the weather is good it's an ideal place to bring a book and a picnic and let the kids wear themselves out :-)
