I’m a bit unsure whether the Ottawa River Pathway and the Voyageurs Pathway are exactly the same—but both are paved bike, jogging, and walking paths running along the river in the capital.
The Voyageurs Pathway stretches for over 20 km on the Gatineau side of the river and is well-maintained. The difficulty level is easy.
On a sunny summer Sunday, the path is crowded with people, so don’t expect to pick up much speed.
The path runs along the river but is laid out in a green tunnel of hedges on both sides. There are a few glimpses of the water and the city, particularly via the so-called lookouts.
The path is a good initiative, but it’s not particularly interesting for tourists wanting to SEE something. This is more about getting some exercise. The views from the various lookouts aren’t especially thrilling.
If you want to bike AND have exciting nature experiences, I’d recommend heading straight to Parc Gatineau.

The Ottawa River pathway runs all along the river from Hiawatha Park to Rockcliffe park.. Its a very long and scenic pathway which you can enjoy by foot, bike, Rollerblade, or ski in the winter. in the winter its part of the Ski heritage East program. The path is well kept and isolated from the street noise. You can fish from the shore, enjoy the birds and wildlife along the way. There are few parking lots along the path but not may, this one allows you the longest route on the path. Close to Rockcliffe Park area, the path much busier than the far east end where there is a large loop that you can walk around.. The parking lot there is the NCC Greenbelt parking lot P27 or closer one parking lot 7 which is right along the path.

Beautiful river and Parliament Hill views. Refreshing air. We did not walk the length of the pathway, but rather about three kilometres of it, being the portion closest to Parliament Hill.

Maggio 2019.

The Ottawa River Pathway is actually very long, and consists of two segments. One runs east from Rockcliffe Park out to Petrie Island (some segments are unpaved however). The other runs west from near the Alexandra Bridge all the way out past Britannia Bay. The trail is quite nice, with views of the Ottawa River and the landmarks on the far side of the river. There are often large numbers of pedestrians and cyclists (including commuters) using this trail as well, so you should exercise reasonable caution when using the trail, whether on foot or by bike. But it's a great way to enjoy the scenery along the river.

Glad to say I did walk the walk on this pathway, after visiting the War Museum, I took this riverside walk back into the city, there are a number of attractions, that you will only see if you do the walk, including the Canadian Navy Memorial, one end of the walk is Rideau Canal Locks, the other end War Museum/Holocaust Memorial.

Nice riverfront park. Powerful views of Ottawa from The Gatineau side. Particularly stunning when the foliage was peaking. Pedestrian bridge was very convenient. There is also a water taxi. Nice museum complex as well. Parliament building as well as other government structures on the Ottawa side.
