One of our days in Sydney we chose to do our own tour of the microbreweries in Marrickville. This was our first stop and we really enjoyed the beer and atmosphere. We ended up returning before we headed home. My husband loved the Hazy IPA. I tried the lager with pea shoots and liked it but it became sour. Went with a plain lager and enjoyed it more

Authentic craft Brewery, interesting taps and an easy walk from Sydneham railway station. Bar service at the front of the brewing shed, surrounded by palates of malt and oats. Unpretentious, engaging and good sized pours for those wanting to taste a few. For beer lovers definitely worth a stop.

would suit teenage boys who arent very sophisticated... no other drinks except some nice beers and next to no service, grotty...

Batch takes the cake by far , for me for serving some amazing crafts beer in Marrickville and that too at absolute amazing pricing.
Bartender super friendly and easy going and are happy to suggest or offer a taste, if you in two minds, surely acts as a crowd puller tht ways.
We ordered two different tasting paddles and it was smashing, from ale, sour, Amber, XPA and stout ( Can't remember the name but it was phenomenal) this place is worth going and highly recommended to try their tasting paddles which is very unique.
I'm sure to return and spend more time with my friends and family here... Coming from Victoria where we have alot of stouts and hazy IPA zz this place is on my check list to be there and suggest everyone else.
Big shout to all the staff behind the scene and counter, for doing an extraordinary job.....Keep it going

Don’t waste your time. The staff are condescending and unhelpful, they don’t really have any concept of hospitality. They are too busy on their phones and chatting to each other than assist customers.

I am a local, so not sure if I should be commenting on Trip Advisor, but I think both of the Batches are highlights, not only of the neighborhood but of Sydney in general. The beer is absolutely delicious and so far from the mass produced rubbish we put up with for so long in Australia that it is crazy. if you are fortunate to be there when MacBatch is on tap, just drink it. It is amazing, but make sure you aren't driving.
However, on top of the amazing beer I would strongly recommend you hunt out Cree the Beer Whisperer. Not only is Cree just an amazing and interesting human being (talk to her about her ceramics business it is fascinating) she knows all of the beers inside out and has a seemingly preternatural ability to know what beer you will love. And I don't just mean like, you will love her recommendations. My favorite moment is when I walk in to get some take away, place my order, only to have Cree say "Nope, you are getting this", because I know that I am about to try a beer that I would never have tried but I am going to love. She has never missed. Cree has introduced me to beers such as Chocolate Raspberry stout, Choc Orange Porter - I hate fruit beer but they were gorgeous, Chapeau and Bock and that is just in the last couple of months.
So I strongly recommend both Batches, but enhance your experience and find Cree for her recommendations and don't forget to tip her!!!!

Definitely one of the many good breweries in the inner west worth visiting. The beer selection is diverse. They offer a tasting paddle of 6 for $15 - unlike many other breweries however they don't like you pick your own selection (they did let us substitute the dark beer however).
We visited on a Sunday arvo and it was busy, so best to book.

They ONLY sell beer here and this does not seem to be indicated on their website. The beer apparently is good, but there is NOTHING for non-beer drinkers, unlike other breweries which do cater for those who cannot drink beer. This is a limitation of their licence, and I was advised to go down to the servo and buy soft drink if I did not drink beer. And the water is warm.

Staff were not at all friendly and were not welcoming. She was rude and insulting while my friend and I were simply ordering at the bar. Will NOT be going here again and do not recommend you visit this brewery.

A lovely rotating selection of beers with lots of different varieties for all palates, many starting from only $5 a glass and up, with small tasting glasses also available, and fridges full of takeaways. Definitely get on their Facebook page to find out which food carts are available each week, although you're welcome to get food delivered to their door, they're happy as long as you're there for the beer. The wall of foreign currency notes is a sight to see as well, it's grown over a number of years now. Friendly staff as always, and only a short walk away from Sydenham train station. A great place to start your Marrickville brewery crawl.
