A choice of walks which are fairly well signed, but we did miss a couple of turns, but we were not the first ones to do so, so even slightly “off piste” routes are well trodden! Car parks get full at weekends on Falls Road, so go early. There was water there a few days after rain, but I guess during Summer the water is sparse. Great place for young children to cross over stepping stones etc

Not huge falls by International standards but very pretty. Walks are easy, but there are gradients and steps.

The bonus was a mobile coffee unit and sausage sizzle at the car park. It was on a Saturday, so not sure if it is there every day.

When rains come, it's Falls time. Perfect for a day out, people are amazed that Lesmurdie Falls and nature are so close to them. Nearby is vibrant Kalamunda, with cafes, restaurants, plus the surrounds have wineries, orchards and natural forests. Take a jacket and head to the hills!

Beautiful views from the top. Lovely falls when there has been a lot of rain. Hike is not too difficult.

We parked at Lower Lesmurdie Falls Car Park at the end of Palm Terrace Rd. Here to enter the park, no entrance ticket is required, but there are no toilets. Having already seen these falls in April, when they were almost completely dry with just a trickle of water, we wanted to see again the 50m high Lesmurdie Falls in the condition close to the maximum water flow of Lesmurdie Brook. We walked the 600 m Foot of the Falls trail along the brook where we saw and photographed some animals including the black-headed monitor (Varanus tristis tristis) and the blue male of the splendid fairywren (Malurus splendens). After a short easy walking we arrived at the foot of the falls. The waterfall was quite beautiful with an abundant amount of water running down the rocks below. A very beautiful and impressive view very different from the one we had had in the dry season.

Western Australia is an arid State and waterfalls are rare. Lesmurdie Falls are in the Perth Hills, not very far from the Perth CBD. It's worth taking a look, especially in spring when the water is flowing. Getting around is not difficult, there are a number of made trails, some short, some around 3 km (2 miles). You can also get a spectacular view of the Perth skyline and the coastal plain. By the way, the Falls are dog-friendly but dogs must be kept on-leash at all times.

Perth is built on a sandplain. Behind the city of Perth are the Hills, which are more properly called the Darling Scarp. The Lesmurdie Falls are unique, not only for the waterfall, but also the environment, which is more like New Zealand than Perth's Mediterranean climate. The Falls are located in Lesmurdie Falls National Park. The Park has several walking trails, which include the lush vegetation at the base of the falls. The best time to visit is in Spring, when the falls are running and the famous Western Australian wildflowers are blooming. Dogs are allowed, on-leash only. Most Perth people find the falls to be an unusual phenomena. The distance from Perth to Lesmurdie is 23 km (14 miles); it takes around 25 minutes by car.

Had this walk on the list for some time and we finally completed during early January.
Decided to park at the lower carpark which I think is the best choice.
Firstly its not as busy and secondly you get the awesome view of the city and waterfall as you walk to the top of the falls.
Then on the way back its a quick walk to the base of the falls. The best of all worlds.
The falls were only a trickle which we expected at this time of year.
A very easy walk on a track that not too commercialised. About and hour return to the top with a short drink break.
All in all a very enjoyable nature walk.
Will be back in June/July to see the falls at there best.

Located close to Perth, this trail has several difficulty rating of trails and can either be accessed from the bottom or the top. Parking is free at either car parks and no entry fee required.

We visited from the bottom where the trail splits; one to the base of the falls and one to the top. We visited in October 2020 so the waterfall was not gushing but it was still sufficient. Plenty of flies and bugs (around the water's edge).

The trail to the top was split into several difficulties. It wasn't until almost to the top that man-made steps become available where concrete steps and barricading leads to two platforms. There were other trails that lead further north to the Mundy Regional Park. We took the moderate difficulty and the whole trek lasted 2hr (one hour each way).

Wear sunscreen and bring insect repellent as most of the tracks do not have shade.

Went here with some friends and associates after a huge feast at the Last Drop.
It was a perfect day for enjoying creation. We took beers, wine, spirits and champagne for the occasion. Also for the wow factor were pipes and McHappy smokes.
Sadly the wilderness unleashed a huge swarm of flies that day and we were all kept busy swatting them for hours. The creek was flowing full bore and you could hear the falls a mile away crashing down the escarpment. A huge cooling mist hovering above keeping us all cool from the blazing October sun. The walk down the gorge is very steep and requires being focused, we were not very focused that afternoon.
If you bring young kids watch them closely. very dangerous falls are possible.
Also if you are not steady on your feet, give this outing a miss.
From Yanchep, it's an all day outing there and back with the pub hog fest.
We all rated the joint an 8 out of 10 for the vista, but it's nothing on the Blue Mountains or Mt Wellington of Hobart. Parking is easy, 500 car capacity easy and some. The Shire could invest in far more furniture for the larger group, we were 20 souls and parked ourselves on rocks, stumps & coolers. I was told that this creek dries up during summer and 40C days are normal plus trillions of flies!!
So April to mid Oct is the best viewing window. Hope this helps someone.
