We went after our walk the titanic tour. The bar man was very friendly and helpful. White wine served was excellent and the lounge area was very comfortable.

Perfect place for an overnight stay the night before a cruise . Room was ready when we arrived at 4. Room was extremely clean with everything you could need . Bedding & towels very fresh . Beds were very comfortable. Are next door at the Greek restaurant- also excellent . About a 7 minute walk to the port to board the next day . Pub about a 10 minute walk to the shops too

We were staying overnight prior to a cruise and were travelling out of the Ocean Cruise terminal and wanted to stay somewhere within walking distance and this was perfect. There is parking nearby but the pub itself is within a pedestrian area. On arrival there was no lift and the rooms are up two flights of stairs but the staff offered to store our cases safely on the ground floor or alternatively offered to carry them up to our room. There is a separate entrance to the accommodation from the pub and the room was modern and comfortable. There was some noise from outside as there are a number of pubs as well as this one in the vicinity but all went quiet from midnight and we slept well. The Ocean Cruise terminal is a five minute walk away from this pub. We would definitely stay here again if travelling out of the Ocean Cruise Terminal

Not like it used to be. Great location and close to town. However bar staff are rude and unprofessional, when I walked in a very short haired lady was sat on her laptop behind the bar, I had to interrupt and ask for a drink as I was not acknowledged. Poor customer service the staff should not be in this type of industry. Manager seemed passive aggressive and didn’t know how to speak to people correctly. It really was a shame.

In order to ensure accuracy, I would like to clarify the events that transpired.
The assistant manager was on the laptop going through emails as it started off being a quiet day.
Unfortunately, when your group arrived the children were running around and the group as a whole were very rude towards the staff, including the assistant manager.
This resulted in a situation where the staff felt threatened and I had to come in on my day off to address the matter.
In my twelve years I have worked here, I have rarely had to call 999, perhaps only a handful of times.
When I tried to explain your attitude towards the staff I then got assaulted.
The assistant manager came over to try and defuse the situation. Which resulted in her getting thrown across the room by a middle aged man. This was absolutely shocking and disgusting behaviour.
All of your behaviour was unacceptable. The police arrived at the pub to remove you from the premises.
Your language and actions in front of your children were inappropriate and concerning.
We chose not to press charges, although the entire incident was captured on CCTV.
We have forwarded your information to Pubwatch, and you will be permanently banned from our establishment.
Please refrain from writing any more reviews and emails.

I was passing through and needed a basic room in the city center for the night, so this fit the bill. However, there was no carpark & the employee didn’t know where I could park so that made it very stressful. For what I paid the room was excellent, but not much to see and do as most things were closed. Unless you have to go to Southampton, skip it at all costs!

Plaque on right side of the Grapes Inn which depicts the history surrounding the brothers who missed the doomed Titanic.
Very nice inside with big comfortable chairs, pool table and great hospitality.

Probably the most famous place in the city where you can have a beer, due to its connection with the history of the Titanic. I was lucky that there was mostly no one inside and I was about halfway through my journey (Titanic memorial trail) so I took a small break for a refreshing drink. Inside there are many references to the Titanic in the form of pictures, newspapers and various interesting information. The business is located on the famous Oxford street, where there are also several other pubs and restaurants.

We visited because to the RMS Titanic links. We did not have a meal here but will probably return next time we visit the city.

Lovely pre-cruise stay at this lovely traditional Inn with rooms.
Value for money and an excellent location with many restaurants,bars etc within easy walking distance and 10 minute walk to cruise terminal.
Paul and his team made us feel very welcome and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

This is our go-to pub in Southampton. Located in Southampton’s main ‘going out’ street, Oxford Street, it is a proper old-fashioned pub that has historic links going as far back as to the Titanic.
What makes this pub special is the staff and the landlord Paul. Great service and we are always greeted with a smile and a friendly face. There is an extensive range of beers, ciders, wines and spirits. No food (only bar snacks), but you are welcome to bring food in or order takeaway from many of the options in the surrounding areas.
Many large screens show football and other major sporting events. There is seating outside at the front, which is great, particularly in the warmer months, when you can soak up the atmosphere of the street and watch the world go by.
Recommended whether you live in Southampton or are just a visitor for a night. The pub also has rooms above which can be booked to stay overnight. I have not stayed myself, but have heard good things from guests who have.
