We’ve visited this area many times but never found this little gem. Not as big and flashy as the other Beatles sites but worth stopping off and chatting to the dedicated staff who saved the site from being lost. Don’t just take a photo of the street sign go up a little further and visit this site. Small memorabilia shop.

We just couldn't miss Penny Lane when we visited Liverpool...
We only bought a few little things in the centre, but we were glad we could visit it on our way from Strawberry Field. It's easy to get here in a short bus ride.

We were taking a walk down Penny Lane and we stumbled upon this lovely park. There is some beautiful artwork all around. The most outstanding piece was the Wonderwall which made for a great photo opportunity.
There is a small shop there with an assortment of books, prints and hand made items. We picked up a book about George Harrison that just so happened to have been autographed by the author.
Spent some time sitting in the gazebo and chatted. Unfortunately, this hidden gem remains hidden as they cannot have a sign post advertising that they are there. So I encourage anyone who is traveling to Liverpool to seek this place out, buy something in the shop and support them as what they have done is quite beautiful.

I was cycling down the road when I saw a mural on the side of their building so thought I'd take a look. Part Beatles visitors centre/souvenir shop, and part a calm place/garden for the local community to enjoy. The area is a labor of love spearheaded by one woman and community volunteers who have done amazing work fixing up the area (photos were posted of what it used to look like). Very deserving of your support.

We arrived in Liverpool on a Monday to begin our Beatles journey of discovery. The weather was awful, buckets of rain on a dreary afternoon. This did not dampen our spirits and we headed straight to Penny Lane for our first stop.
As we walked down the street in the pouring rain, we stumbled across the Penny Lane Beatles Visitors Centre. We had no idea about it but we were immediately intrigued as we discovered the Beatles mural and the yellow submarine in the garden. The mural is beautiful, a long wall filled with artwork of the Beatles, vibrant colours catch your eye and draw you in.
We decided to explore further and so we went inside to welcomed by the incredible Julie and her shop full of Beatles memorabilia. I could say that this is a great shop with friendly staff and leave it at that but that would be doing a disservice to the amazing job Julie does here.
Julie is incredible. She welcomed us in straight away and immediately engaged in conversation. Within minutes we were hooked as Julie told us stories of how the charity started, how it serves the community, it’s links with The Beatles and The Quarrymen. We were fascinated and it was evident to see how dedicated Julie is to this cause, her passion and her knowledge kept us engaged for over an hour as we chatted away. The great thing was that at no point did the exchange feel forced or prepared, it was as if we had bumped into a friend on the street and stopped for a natter and a gossip!
The merchandise on offer is really great too, some lovely gift ideas for friends and family and Beatles posters cover the walls, there is so much to look at. In fact, we enjoyed our visit so much that we returned for another natter on the Wednesday!
As big Beatles fans, we came to Liverpool to find out things we didn’t already know and to see the Beatles sights. It’s quite possible that we learnt more from Julie than from anything else we experienced on our trip!
This is an absolute must if you’re visiting Liverpool on a Beatles pilgrimage. Come because it’s Penny Lane, come to support the charity, stay for Julie and her stories.

I really enjoyed looking at the merchandise and pictures in the store. I definitely did some shopping there! I was able to get things I did not see elsewhere. Very unique inventory and people were very friendly! I would definitely recommend this!

Brilliant place for all Beatles enthusiasts. I was taken here as part of the Beatles tour I booked via the Hard Days Night Hotel. The manager Julie was a delight to talk to and very knowledgeable. Loved the yellow submarine and the art wall outside and all the memorabilia inside. I also have to say that it is not often you come across an act of pure kindness and generosity, but I did on this visit. Julie had tickets for the Mersey Beatles on the night of our visit and offered them to us for a donation to the trust as she could not make the concert. THANK YOU Julie❤️❤️❤️ It made our holiday. What a fabulous night. You are a star 🤩🤩and I will be back next time I’m in Liverpool❤️

Called into Penny Lane Development Trust many, many times and it never ceases to amaze me the hard work, Julie and Jo do to provide the Beatles experience to all fans and also to provide a high quality of activities for the community.

As a huge Beatles fan for over 57 years this was a very exciting time for me to be able to visit the land of the lads .. definitely worth the time and effort. If you are in the area for any reason give yourself a treat and visit this area for sure . Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes .... ya gotta love it ...yeah,yeah,yeah ...

Hi there! You do not have to pay and yes parking is nearby. We went as part of a tour, but you are totally able to do it on your own. We absolutely loved Liverpool and seeing all the Beatles spots. I hope you get to go and enjoy the sights!

We are driving and have booked a taxi tour on 12/9/19 and will meet at Visitors Centre. Is there parking nearby?

There was a small car park on the site, but we were in a coach so parked on the main road, but is a busy road for parking.

I would like to know when our visitors who go on our tours will be able to buy the items from your gift shop on the inter net so we can give that information out if asked.
