Some amazing stained glass windows. I really liked the modern ones in the millennium section. Also 15th century carvings in the misery seats. It’s where the monks sat. Having works done at the moment but still a place to take time to have a look.

Tower tour recommended - fascinating stuff. Bellringing demo and chance to 'have a go' half -way up, followed by a visit to the roof. Not for the claustrophobic or unfit though!

We had a lovely time at the Great Malvern Priory on the way to the hills. The vicar, Rod, very kindly gave us a fascinating tour of some of the historic highlights of the church. The stained-glass windows were a particular highlight. We would highly recommend stopping by!

If you get the chance this is worth popping in for it is a beautiful Church with some magnificent stained glass. It is free and a lovely place to spend half an hour walking round to admire the stunning building.

Fascinating place. Such a history and lots of interest inside, brought out by our guide. Cathedral proportions - the term priory suggests something much smaller.

Not quite sure what to expect but this abbey was just lovely. From the welcoming, friendly lady when we entered to the magnificent Great East window to the wooden carvings on choir seats, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. So, much so that as well as donating we also bought a book on their stained glass windows !
Well-recommended.

We had a great experience at the Priory! The greeter was a young man named Jimmy who was very enthusiastic about sharing the history of the place. When we asked him where the keyhole was that inspired the part in the book where Lucy looks through and sees the gas lit lamp he was a bit shocked because no one had told him this was the place!
Within 10 minutes we found it and he was so excited because this is a childhood memory of his and many other young British youth. Sure enough, at the back of the priory we found the “wardrobe” and we looked through the keyhole and there was the gas lantern in the “forest”.
There was something very special about looking through that keyhole and watching him look through it for the first time. While the rest of the place was incredible, beautiful, and eerie (check out the mercy seat pictures) the Narnia experience was the best and a must see when you are in this area. The inspiration for Tolkien and Lewis’s writings.

A historic Priory with history going back to 14 c. Magnificent stained glass windows, one of which is nearly the largest in England. Also stunning millineum windows which are worth seeing. We had a knowledgeable volunteer guide tell us about the history of the Priory. There are frequent concerts at lunchtime, which are free.

Totally surprised by the Priory and Great Malvern. The exterior is unique and exceptional to take in. The history isn’t just local, but international importance to mathematics from the 1100’s and then later in history towards WW2 and the scientists living there. Medieval tiles everywhere inside the Priory. For an ancient building it feels well connected to the present and the life of its local community too.
The shop was good too, including cards and souvenirs.

We visited the priory on a weekday and were greeted by a lovely lady who gave us a personal tour of the priory. She obviously loved the building and was very knowledgeable about the history of the priory pointing out the different types of stained glass, the mediaeval tiles and the special Narnia keyhole at the back of the church. There were musicians rehearsing for a lunchtime concert, which was a nice backdrop.
