Lovely walk out with plenty of wildlife to see if you look out for it. We enjoyed a lovely stroll having spotted the location on google maps; the seals were playing in the water all the way along, and an eagle was flying in the forest. Down at the big hide more seals were spotted on the rocks and in the water, unfortunately nothing else could be spotted; but that didn’t ruin our lovely walk or the gorgeous views. The hide had a great telescope, and the toilets on route were lovely and clean. Highly recommended for a stop off or for a day out in its own right.

The hide itself is great and equipped with plenty of information as well as a free telescope. Our sat nav took us as far as a very well placed sign which pointed us the rest of the way to the car park. On the walk down from the car park we were pleased to find some toilets too. The walk is pleasant and has benches/viewpoints along the way too. Unfortunately we weren’t able to see otters (we stayed in the hide for about 2 hours) but saw plenty of seals and birds - including herons & oystercatchers. The road itself is certainly not the worst on the isle but it is a single track with passing places so just be cautious!

Didn't see any otters, but did see and hear seals. The hide is very well constructed and toilets near the car park are very good. Only 6 people allowed in the hide at a time, glad we got there early as we passed lots of people on the way back to the car. The road from Broadford is single track all the way and very twisty in places.

pop along here to see seals and birds (we didn't see any otters)
they had a free telescope to use which was necessary and there was anti-bac spray to use. good toilets en route too.

We do wish we managed to see otters but unfortunately weren’t lucky! We spent around 2 hours in the hide through the woods, we did spot lots of seals and even a seal pup but sadly no otters! Lovely easy walk down to the hide and definitely worth a visit.

The road down to the hide is a bit hairy but apparently you can take the ferry which is much easier!

It is long drive on a single track to get here and disappointing at the end to find everything locked with a note saying "closed due to covid" on all the hides and the toilets. The first hide is right next to the car park and a little far from the water to be able to see a great deal without bringing some decent optics. We took a walk (about a mile) to the hide which was closer to the water, past the locked up toilets) and though the hide itself was locked we were able to make our way round the side where we were rewarded after a short wait with two otters hunting near to the lighthouse/navigation aid, just below the hide. We would have continued to ignore the midges and watch the pair for a lot longer had a couple wearing very loud anoraks not decided to wander onto the shoreline and scare them off. For me though, it was well worth the trip.

Guaranteed to see lots of seals. Beautiful woodland walk to the hide. It was closed due to Covid but we just sat on the land nearby. Really nice walk down to the pebbled beach near by. I think you have to be very lucky to see otters but we really enjoyed it none the less. If we were in Skye again I would revisit ☺️

Lovely spot to watch the local wildlife and enjoy the views
Saw sunbathing seals, fishing herons and a group of harbour porpoise playing directly opposite the hide — well worth the visit!!

It was drizzling and misty with wind, a great combo for the drive to the hide, it’s a very interesting road to the hide. It’s a little bit like a roller coaster for car drivers you have to give it a go and you’ll see what I mean....I loved it even with the shoddy weather it was wonderful and that was just the getting to the hide. When we got to the car park (free) the top hide there, was closed but the beautiful walk to the bottom hide was well worth it this was open and warm and dry. My wife and I got there early so no one was there and we spent only 20-30 minutes there and we spotted the wild otter (right by the shoreline to the right of the lighthouse) it was magnificent, then just 5 minutes after spotting it a coach load of people arrived lol talk about good timing, we were off, satisfied that we saw what we came to see. Brilliant.
