Atelier de dessin, aquarelle - carnet de voyage à Aix-en-Provence et alentours. Apprendre à regarder, à comprendre ce que l'on a sous les yeux pour pouvoir le retranscrire. Croquer sur place est très amusant, très créatif. On peut accompagner so croquis d'écriture, de collages, et de couleur bien sur. Ouvert à tous : débutants et artistes confirmés; vouloir tenter l'expérience est suffisant ! Regarder sa page de carnet quelques semaines, mois ou années plus tard et tout revient (les personnes rencontrées, l'atmosphère du jour, les odeurs, etc...). Des souvenirs de voyage mais pas uniquement; dessiner son quotidien est également très amusant.

What a wonderful experience! I had an art class together with my daughter and we did spent a lovely afternoon in Aix en Provence, creating a beautiful sketchbook!

My children and I met with Catherine at a lovely park in Aix-en-Provence and had a magical few hours learning how to draw what we saw around us. She was kind, encouraging and inspiring and we all expanded our horizons and drawing skills!!! Thank you Catherine for a beautiful morning :). If you are adventurous I’m the arts and want to have an immersive experience in Provence I highly recommend working with Catherine!

Loved my morning with Catherine and learned a lot from her using techniques new to me. She’s passionate and has such a gorgeous style with her travel journal which she generously shared with me.

The experience of sitting in a Cafe, on a street corner, or in a Market, sketching and painting was one I will never forget. With Catherine's guidance and encouragement I did it!!! Catherine is a talented, knowledgeable artist and I highly recommend her and the experience she can provide you. Merci Catherine!

Catherine is very kind and encourages you to just start sketching what you see. She gives you great tips. She learns how to tell your story/memory with sketching. Also using tickets/bookpages/paperwraos etc.
My daughter (15) took 3 different classes and she got really enthousistic. One afternoon they sat on a terrace in a little street, one day they went to a beautiful Castle near Aix and one morning they sat in a book-bar.
Now she sees all kibd of tbings she wants to sketch and almost can't stop 😃
Uf you want to learn or get better in making a sketchbook, defenitely book some classes!

Catherine is an excellent teacher. She give you creative ideas to help you get started, and then suggests ways to add to the page. I have studied with her during three different trips to Aix-en-Provence, and each time I learn new things. She has helped me become a more creative sketcher and taught me how to make a "Carnet de Voyage", adding parts of menus, receipts, copies of text from the place you are visiting, stamps, etc. With Catherine, you go to interesting places and end up with great pages for your sketchbook. Also, her English is excellent. I highly recommend Catherine!!!

I was looking for an art instructor while I was on vacation in Aix-en-Provence and found Catherine. We exchanged emails and set up a session. So easy, we met as scheduled, had a lovely afternoon at a Cafe sketching in the sun with gentle guidance from Catherine. We focused on issues that I was struggling with, and Catherine was generous with ideas and different perspective. Very kind and great way of coaching. Thank you Catherine.

I had a private class with Catherine, and it definitely was a highlight of my time in France. She is friendly, kind, at ease, and an excellent teacher. We sat sketching in a cafe for an hour and a half, and I was completely in a relaxed “zone’ the entire time, enjoying playing and not being perfect. It was freeing and very fun!
Catherine is a gifted teacher and a special person. I can’t recommend her classes highly enough!

I booked a private lesson with the wonderful Catherine. I am an art novice, but have long admired the urban sketching style, and am so glad to have learned some great techniques (and mindsets!) from Catherine. Catherine is a great teacher and conversationalist and the hours sailed by. No matter your skill level, she will work with you. As for supplies, there are a couple well stocked stores in central Aix, and Catherine can guide you on what you need. If you're on the fence, go ahead and book! You will have a wonderful time and will leave with the perfect souvenir from your travels. This truly was a highlight of my time in France--thank you, Catherine!

Catherine is not just an amazing artist, but she also is accepting of wherever you are in your art journey, and then provided the tools and encouragement to inspire you to go to the next level. I took an all-day class with Catherine and we completed four sketches. With her support, I was able to create drawings that showed improvement with each one. Her gentleness and her passion about drawing was inspirational and I will take her words and wisdom back to America with me. This class was just what I needed in my life.

I sent an email and you probably did not receive because I did not get a reply.
I saw your cahier du voyage classes on Trip Advisor, and I would love t join in and get some of this experience and polish up on my drawing and sketching.
My husband and I will be in the area (from Australia) between 10 - 18 July 2015 and I would like to know if you will be having a workshop or teaching classes during this time.

In july, the weekly classes are more or less "off" as local people are on holidays...
what I can propose if you are interested is private sessions : 2h30 of working on this "carnet de voyage" way of drawing on a sketchbook. we meet in town and draw on the spot (according to the weather - shady spot, café if rainy, etc...)
A class is 70€, if you take more than one or if you are 2, I'll make a price.
You need a sketchbook, waterproof pen and watercolors (and whatever else you fancy using of course !)
So far I am free sunday 12th of july, monday 13th after 4pm, tuesday 14th (public holiday) & wednesday 15th.
let me know what would suit you best.
