Stunning views and a lovely walk.

Mt Wellington is part of a larger National Park which includes a large number of walking and climbing trails of various types. The Organ Pipes trail starts towards the top of the hill winds it’s way across and the down the mountain across the face of a cliff of dolerite columns.
Our guide Matt picked us up on the bus and gave an informative commentary and then made tea and coffee along the way. It was a small group and friendly. There was no uphill involved, no steps except down to The Springs bus stop at the end.
The views of the city and surrounding areas was spectacular.
Highly recommended even for the relatively unfit.
The mountain seems to be its own micro climate with very changeable weather. We had sun, cloud and a sprinkle of rain in two and a half hours. The day before it had snowed at the summit!
Warm clothes including beany mandatory for comfort.
Highly recommended.

Fantastic walk, with amazing views. Multiple vistas of the whole of Hobart area, and of the Organ Pipes.
Excellent sign posting, well constructed and maintained trail.
Good amount of parking at the trail head (The Chalet).
Highly recommended!!

Best for views of Hobart

Relatively easy walk if leaving from the Chalet where you can see rock climbers scale the organ pipes, plenty of flora and fauna abound. We walked to the junction and back which took about 2hrs. If you're looking for the views there not far from the commencement of the walk.
