It was a great experience watching Tom and his crew, explaining and showing the crowd how they train the horses and dogs. The show is 2hrs long with an intermission in the middle. He brings out animals for you to pat and Tom sings a few of his songs. We both really enjoyed the show ☺️

This is not another corny cowboy show. It is a fascinating and engrossing experience that far exceeded our expectations. This backbone of the business is training muster dogs and breaking horses for outlying cattle stations and Katherine Experience showed us how they do their job.
Seats were made comfortable by cushions and we were served cold water at the start of the experience. Toilets were well maintained.

An absolute highlight of our trip to the NT. We are an Irish couple in our late twenties living in Sydney and heard about the show online. I would recommend to anyone we know coming to visit the NT. I was a bit nervous about how the animals would be treated, but I needn’t have worried one bit. The trainers were so kind and knowledgeable about their animals. We could have sat there for another two hours easily, which is saying something considering the 36 degree heat! Toilets were immaculate and the addition of water, cold towels and ice lollies were welcome touches. 10/10 experience.

Really enjoyed , was good to hear how they train and break the horse. The music was an added bonus. Beautiful facilities. Love the special touch of a cool towel and cold water at the start. All people who participate in the show run the facilities. Great for all ages.

What an amazing place and fabulous show put on by Tom Curtain and his mates.
The horsemanship exhibited, the fantastically trained dogs, the horses and a sundry of animals all performed perfectly.
I was captivated for 2 hours with entertainment you would pay a lot more for. The knowledge imparted, the inclusion of the audience, the music and lyrics were outstanding.
Will highly recommend to anyone visiting the area or just passing through. Do yourselves a favour and don’t miss the Katherine Outback Experience. 10/10

The whole team are exceptionally knowledgeable as they would have to be as their lifestyle would dictate, the show has a very brief changeover and overall, my wife and give it a 12 out of 10, the pups took my wife's heart, but the horses did it for me, all characters there. You must see them when you get up this way. We booked in Katherine Tourist info centre, staff did it all, thanks to them as well.

A wonderful experience of outback life with animals. Training was well explained and Tom and his team have a great rapport and understanding with their horses and dogs. It was so much more than a show for tourists and really gave a feeling of outback station life.

Our family loved the Katherine Outback Show.
The animals are a big highlight and great to see how they train their animals. Amazing stock men and dog trainers. Highly recommended kids loved it! Especially patting the puppies at the end of the show! Thanks team!

KATHERINE OUTBACK EXPERIENCE

We use the mop as an extension of our arm to keep the dogs from invading the personal space of the goats. So when the dogs come too close to the goats we dangle a wet mop in their face which makes it a little uncomfortable for the dog and they keep out off the goats. This allows them to control the whole mob, particularly down the track when the dogs are working large numbers of cattle.

Generally we are open in Katherine from May to the end of October during the Dry Season. If all goes to plan, we are hoping to open in the southwest of WA from December to April.
