We saw the winery featured on television so arranged a visit. What an amazing place. The views across the hillside were magnificent. Our guide, Alejandro had a vast knowledge of his craft and explained how the wine is produced and how different varieties are made. We enjoyed tasting the different wines in the beautiful building. Alejandro has a great passion for wine making. We hope the wine we bought makes it back to England I one piece and look forward to drinking it!

Just completed the wine tour and tasing with Alejandro and it was excellent. Very knowledgeable, great history of the region and the wines, and a very nice tasting. We will remember it for some time especially seeing Bienvenido singing to the wine. A beautiful winery and worth the visit.

Having seen La Melonera on a UK TV documentary, we opted to call in on a day out whilst on vacation near Malaga.
It’s not the easiest place to find but once we did, we were welcomed by Alejandro and given a brief history of the place and then treated to a tasting of three of their wines.
All were extremely palatable and there followed a visit to the shop to purchase a few bottles.
We also bought a bottle of their unique wine “Yo Solo” that is produced from grapes only grown on this particular estate - This we carefully packed in our hold luggage for return to the UK for a special celebration later in the year.
The “bodega” offers tastings at €15 per person or a more complete tour with tasting, snacks and local ham that’s bookable in advance.
Thanks to all for the hospitality and for anyone visiting the Ronda area, then it’s well worth a visit.

We had an amazing experience, the staff was friendly and attentive. We went as a group of 3 and we had the tour alone. We were offered a tasting of three wines( one white and two red) and two types of their olive oil. They served it with basket of bread, some chips and a plate of delicious Spanish ham. I definitely recommend.

On the country roads around Ronda - rolling hills, white villages, meadows in blossom, lies a relatively undiscovered jewel of La Melonera, where the Spanish history of wine, pride, and the sun is bottled ... and unbottled for tourists, in an exclusive and family-like setting.
Gema is truly a dynamite story-teller, that will tell you all about the history of Ronda and its wines, the glory days, and the sad days of grape-eater phylloxera, as well as the story of bringing the rare wines back to the region in the 21st century, step by step, with pride and patience and lots of care, treating both - grapes and visitors with utmost care and kindness.
The wines are unique, as is the generosity of the heart of Gema and the place itself. She made the celebration of our 30-year friendship of 4 friends truly special.

Where is this place? No one on Calle Setenil has heard of "La Melonera"
