I was bitten by one of the stray dogs living at this beach on May 23, 2023. Be careful if you walk in from the road. The dog pack ran toward me barking before I even entered the parking lot.

It is hard to believe after reading all the reviews that no one mentions the pack of stray dogs (approx 8 adult, 4 pups) that were (still are?) living at Mar Chiquita Beach when I visited it. When I went to the local hospital to be treated for the severe wound the doctor said he had treated someone from a dog bite at this beach 2 weeks prior to mine. So carry a big stick. Stay calm and enjoy your time in this beautiful spot.

Hermosa playa de arenas blanca con agua transparente y oleaje medio y aguas tibias . Son playas medio virgenes, no hay muchas personas y además pocos lugares donde comer o comprar bebidas y meriendas

We made a quick day trip from Aguadilla. The swim area was very cool. There was a big swell going on, so it made a big surge of water come through the opening. It was like a full on wave pool. Very fun to swim in. It would also be awesome to swim in when very calm, and the visibility would be better also.

Such a fun little adventure oasis! The enclosed natural wave pool is sizeable with great visibility for snorkeling due to mostly rocky bottom. Entering the water can be tricky as much of the shoreline is rocky cliff/edge-like and slippery, but it is manageable if carefully timed with waves and much easier in my opinion to get out (though I am an active person). There are a couple more mild/gradual entry spots and you can find them usually where people are standing and hanging out. The water is extremely rough and wavy - an adventurist’s delight! Bold swimmers go out to the mouth where it opens and you have front row seats to open waters. Take extreme caution if uncomfortable in water, especially when you can’t stand or if you momentarily get water in your eyes/up your nose, or if you’re a water-timid beginner swimmer. Best part - not only is this a fun beach to sunbathe and snorkel, but the rocky cliffs are fun to explore and hike on to get closer to the open ocean. Take caution here as well in areas where swells suddenly appear, if unprepared and an unexpected big one comes crashing, it could throw you off balance. Definitely need secure shoes - best sneakers, second best water shoes and sandals at your own risk. Walking farther away will get you to caves and other areas to explore. There is another beach at Mar Chiquita to the east of the natural pool that is more open to ocean and just as choppy. I saw some snorkelers with floaties/flags to locate them in the water. I will continue to come back to this paradise!

Great day, great weather, beautiful beach. Wave motion tough at the edge but not bad further in. Find the entry spots without rocks for easiest wading into water. Kids had a great time @ the side tide pool. Beach was mostly clean. Some glass here and there.

Great to look at but NOT swimmable. Trash everywhere in the lead up to the beach and in the smelly parking area. It's great to look at but even the waking is difficult as the sand is very steep and soft as you sink up to your shins.

A very nice beach off the beaten path. The beach has an unmarked parking area. We went during the week so parking was not an issue; I would imagine on the weekends it may be a bit more complicated. Once at the beach you should have your own snacks and beverages because I did not see anyone or anywhere where you could get something to eat or drink.
The beach itself is nice, you need to bring your own chairs and umbrellas because they are only a few shaded spots. The beach has rocks and coral all around it, there is a small opening which allows water into the inlet. The water is crystal clean, you can see your toes when in it. Unfortunately the beach has many rocks which makes it difficult to walk in and swim. They have a few areas where you can walk in without having to navigate the rocks. The rocks are quite slippery so be careful if you decided to walk over them to get to a swimming spot. Overall it was a nice beach but not one of my favorites.

This was our favorite beach from our vacation and spent all day there. Spectacular views just be VERY careful in rock climbing easy to scrape or get hurt. Take snorkeling gear or a vendor there for you to purchase at slightly higher prices. Swimming, relaxing, tubing, snorkeling, all you could ever ask for with breathtaking views. Take an umbrella or arrive early to find a spot under tree but limited. Also, take drinks and snacks. For adults there was a vendor there selling homemade Sangria that was EXCELLENT and refreshing!

Our family (4 adults, 4 teens) loved exploring this beach. It's rocky and rough, so probably not great for small children. Wear water shoes with a good grip, especially if you want to climb the limestone rocks. It looked dangerous to me, but lots of people were doing it. Note that there are portable restrooms, but when we visited on a Monday they were padlocked shut. There were vendors selling pina coladas and snacks.

The waves get pretty big here, not enough for surfing but great for boogie boarding and wave jumping. Wear some type of water shoes because the rocks are a little sharp and slippery, which I found out the hard way. Also be careful of the sea urchins there are a ton further out. Not so good for little kids but wonderful for anyone wanting a little bit of an adrenaline rush and a more exciting swim. I went at about 6pm.
