We went to Bootsy's for my friends birthday on a Saturday night. Didn't get busy til about midnight. No dress code clearly. Small VIP area, dance floor and seating. They had a short video on a loop of mostly nude women which doesn't bug me, but was very repetitive and boring. There was a couple people smoking cigarettes which must be allowed, but almost made me leave from smell. DJ could mix well, but sometimes would play not club music, more like some bad throwbacks, which was a dance buzz kill. Friend was pretty sure extra drinks got thrown on his bill as well. Broken glass on floors there all night. Probably could skip next time in town.

A nice restaurant-bar-lounge-nightclub in downtown Aspen. Quite large for Aspen standards, and could easily take in about 150+. Nice decor inside with a combo of modern and art deco. Feels quite updated and the place is still pretty new.
Both tourists and sometimes locals flock to this place most nights out of the week. There's quite people there most nights and the atmosphere is good, but it rarely gets crowded beyond comfort. Mostly good DJs and good music makes for a usually a good time here.
Service was sometimes slow though with sometimes taking a long time to get a drink. The whole bar was setup a bit awkward though. The prices can be a bit high, even for Aspen. Not locals friendly.

My buddy and I were looking to hit the town after dominating some class IV rapids (no big deal but kind of a big deal). We had probably been to 4 places already that night, and they were all either a very casual atmosphere or just completely dead. Keep in mind that at the ripe old age of 24, we were not looking to sip Johnnie Walker Blue and tell war stories; our goal was to throw back Fireball shots and not remember getting home. I had already put down at least 4 red bull vodkies and had no intention of slowing down the booze train.
Moving on. We're at this one joint that has serious potential other than the fact that we are the only people in the place. This cute bartender keeps flirting with us (duh) and finally tells us that there's a place down the road that is a lot of fun and has a great DJ. This peaks our interest, so we part from our beautiful Fireball server and take off down the road. We almost miss the place; there are a few people out front but nothing that would indicate that there is a cool bar in the area. I have to ask the bouncer if this is the right place, he says yes and points us down a flight of stairs into the basement. There is usually a cover but I since we were wearing sports coats and looking flyer than an airplane he let us in fo free.
The smell of artificial smoke and the thud of the bass hit us as soon as we got into the stairwell...this was a good sign. We get to the bottom of the steps and turn a corner into what I thought at the time was heaven. Lazers, smoke, hot bottle service girls, bumping dance floor, wild DJ, you name it. From what I remember (I blacked out, I know, I'm cool) I had a blast and certainly did not want to leave when 2:00 am rolled around and they were kicking everyone out. It was a delightful evening and would 10/10 party there again. Oh wait, I did. We went back the next night and had an even better time, love me some Bootsy Bellows.
