Einer der vielen Wasserfälle auf der Straße nach Hana. Das Bad war erfrischend und nicht so überfüllt.
Ich hätte den ganzen Tag dort verweilen können

The thing about these falls is that they see are rather easy to see from the bridge , but hard to get to nonetheless, making this a usually quiet spot with few fellow travelers and a wide, cold empty pool in a beautiful spot with the requisite waterfall. Much like the so-called Three Bears fall before it, on the road to Hana, this is a nice hang out for small groups. There is the one obstacle: a fence topped with barbed wire and severely threatening signage about trespassing, flash floods, etc. Pay this no mind, toss a thick towel over the barbed wire and you’ll do fine. After taking a dip, take the trail to the top of the falls, which starts near the gate. This is a good size falls for swimming. Worth at least an hour, but, coming so early on in the Hana parade of hits, it might actually be too cold to do much skinny dipping, if you get here before noon.

Being on a guided tour has it's good and bad. The bad is that you can't stop at every waterfall. The good is that the driver knows which ones to stop at. This is one that he said is nice "but wait until you see what we are going to".

Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming to see the beautiful scenery. All of a sudden it comes into view. Not a lot of parking but it's a shame to drive by. One should stop and take in the great nature.

Es una cascada chica. Hay que hacer una larga caminata para llegar. La vegetación es increíble... el sonido de las cañas de bambú.. Cuidado con la humedad y el sendero con piedras... no te resbales. Llevá un trozo de madera para usar como bastón.

ごくごく小さな滝ですが、結構人が訪れています。ハナに行く道が狭くて疲れるので、皆休憩によるみたいです。滝自体は面白くないですが、休憩には良い場所です。

The falls are one of many on Maui, which in my opinion is heaven on earth. There are many of these to see and make sure you take pictures so you can recall this for years to come.

マウイ島は他のハワイ諸島のなかでは穏やかな島ですが、ドライブすると、渓谷や滝があり、バラエティに富んだ景色が目を楽しませてくれます。とくにこの滝は神が宿るような神々しさを感じさせてくれます。心の塵芥が洗い流されてストレスが解消されるようです。帰路のフライトの中ですっきりした自分に出会えます。

We were driving on the road to Hana checking out the waterfalls. I got one of those tourist pamphlets called Spotlight's Maui Gold, with about a dozen detailed maps of each section of Maui. The Puohokamoa Falls is one of the first falls one will encounter on the road to Hana, and we saw it's exact location on the section map Kaiula to Hana.
We drove past the Garden of Eden Arboretum, not caring to pay $15 to see the falls from above, and started looking for the falls from the road. At about the mile marker 11 there is a slight downgrade and straightaway in the road with the coast on the left hand side and a sheer cliff on the right hand side. At the end of the straightway there will be a bridge, and just before the bridge are a number of parking spots next to the railing on the coastal (left) side of the road.
On the right side of the road just on the bridge side are two parking spots, and a trail head. When you cross the bridge (speed limit 10 mph), you will very briefly see the falls on your right, emptying into a large pool.
We drove over the bridge and parked on the right hand side just past the bridge, where there is an area for two more cars to park, before the road goes up an incline.
The falls are accessible with a short path from the trail head next to the bridge. We were there in November, and the falls were probably at their lowest level. Still it was a nice 20 foot falls, going right over a sharp circular cliff, into a good sized pool of water, suitable for swimming or wading. We brought our swimming suits, but decided not to jump in. Great photo site, with the falls and pool of water, and lush vegetation of the rain forest.
We brought along our hiking boots, and went uplands a bit along the stream. Muddy path, with a sign warning that flash floods could occur at any time. Big tree with huge roots blocked part of the path. Very slippery trying to climb over the roots and then over large round boulders covered with algae. I wouldn't do it in flip flops or sandals, or even regular running shoes, as there is no traction. Cross the stream as soon as you can, and head up a little ways, and there is another falls in the distance. I didn't bring mosquito repellent, and got a lot of bites showing by the end of the day.
It is important to get there early in the morning -we left Wailea at 630am, gassed at Costco in in Khalului at 715am, and probably got to the waterfalls by 830am, after some previous stops. Get there too late in the morning, and all 8 or so parking spaces will be filled, and there will be no place to stop on the road.

Really easy to miss the few parking spot area for this falls. We saw the falls more beautifully from the Garden Of Eden - Botanical Gardens & Arboretum. We had a high birds eye view from the Garden, much better than seeing the falls at same level, when we walked in. If already on The road to Hana, might as well pass by.

Can you Swim in these falls? Is it much of a hike? Traveling with two small children and a wide double stroller.

This is not a good place for small children and not stroller friendly . Try the trails in the National Park and be cautious of flash floods.
