We absolutely loved finishing our day here. We went on our first day driving around Oahu. So easy to get to and so lovely jumping off the rocks into the fresh water. So much so that our teen made us go back a couple of days later. As with all rock jumps, make sure you see a local go first.

Not too far out of Waikiki, this was a great hike. Challenging enough and interesting but not so hard that my 11 year old couldn't do it, or got bored. The waterfall was small but awesome - try the natural water slide, and jump off the rocks on the far side. Just enough of a thrill while not being crazy. Beautiful hike too. Park along the road (be wary of car breakins - don't leave anything out or of value in the car), then go to the trail marker. You see a waterfall immediately but follow the vague path to the right. The path makes a loop. Turning right takes you climbing up and down the 'mountain', and the waterfall is very close. The left side of the loop is much longer, and a more defined path through woods. I recommend doing the whole loop - the direction you turn depends on how quickly you want to find the falls! Recommend wearing sneakers and bringing water shoes for the swimming hole.

What a great spot! We were driving around enjoying the countryside and decided to stop just cause. Short hike leads you to a great little waterfall surrounded by huge Banyan trees. Walked over with my 74 yr old mom and 4 yr old grand daughter. Super easy.

We did the long route for hiking and I'm not in the best shape and I was able to hike it. My husband had to help me so I didn't lose my balance. Wear your hiking shoes because it gets muddy in some areas. Real pretty hike.

There were locals at the pond and we saw them come down a different path and he said oh yeah it's a 30 second hike to the road. So leaving yep we did the easy route. The locals were jumping off the rock and going down the rock slide. So when we left yep we took the quick route. There were ropes to make it easy on the steep spots hiking back up.

We did the hike mainly to get to the rock slide so there is shorter route if you don't wish to hike for long. The pathway is across the road from the flashing light for all of you travelers just in case a local isn't there to guide you.

Great trail that was only about one mile. Had a nice mix of terrain. There are also opportunities to swim along the way. One thing I did not know is this trail is part of the Tantalus Trail way. I saw a picture of a map while on the trail and it looks like it connects to other trail networks like Nona falls. We did not plan for a longer hike so did not get to try it out. I’ve included pictures in what I upload.

It was a fun experience until we found a body laying under a tarp/blanket in the middle of the trail we didn’t stop to look to see whether it was a died body or a homeless person laying there. We turned around as soon as we saw it but besides that it was a fun experience.

Difficult terrain when walking the trail along the water. Lots of mud and tree roots. Pool is not very deep. Be careful.

No Happy trekking when you get lost on a trail that lead nowere, there is no loop. Feeling lost and confused just not a good way to end our wonderful family weekend. This is not a nice or easy walk, muddy short trail takes you to the jackass ginger pool - the dead end. The parking on the side of the road looks a little dangerous so clean your car before you go and don't leave anything in it. The trail here isn't difficult to find but you will find many side paths along the way that make it tough to know if you're on the actual trail or someones improvised path.
P.S. Hate it!

We had kids ages 8-11 on the trail today, while it was super wet and muddy the trail was easy enough for them to maneuver and the scenery was beautiful! I highly recommend wearing water shoes that can get wet as you need to hike across the creek at the beginning of the trail and also because you’re sure to get muddy as you hike if the ground is at all wet (and bring extra shoes to change into before you drive home). The swimming hole at the end was a sweet reward for the easy hike through the forest. There is a natural rock waterslide into the pool and a few cliffs that we jumped from as well. Everyone had a blast!

Found the trail head easily. really pretty area. fun to walk through the river to start the real trail to get to the watering hole at Jacka** Ginger Pond where folks can jump off into the pool below and slide down natural slides. Water was cool but pleasant. We lost our way going back and landed on another, harder hike, but it sure was pretty. Tall trees, lots of tree types. nice breezes. our friends' car got broken into and had their backpacks stolen. Not a good way to end our wonderful week long vacation.
