Nice to climb this easy mountain, you need to arrange some advice from some guía, basically 2 porter, 1 cook and 1 guía.

Climbing Kilimanjaro via the beautiful Machame route with my daughter. It was a lifetime experience with lots of great memories. We had an excellent team led by Mr. Norbert Nestory. The trek was filled with views, laughter and some hard work - recommended at all times.

We chose Kilisa Tours & Safaris for organizing our climb and was a great decision. Everything was perfect! Naick were reachable literally 24/7 through email and WhatsApp
The equipment that was provided was of good quality, the tents were good and maintained a good temperature and also equipment we rent from Kilisa Tours was clean and in a good condition, the Hotel before and after was in a nice condition
The tour itself went very well, it's not as easy as I imagined but we went to challenge ourselves, having our porters, cook and Guides shoot up the mountain and always having camp set up. I cannot speak highly enough for this amazing team
The guides Bakari and Goodluck spoke very good English, very professional at all times and taking your health very seriously up there from debriefing at night and health checks to make sure you ready for next days activities.
Food was amazing, we had warm water for washing every day and even warm water in our bottles to sleep at night. Every member of the team went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, safe and able to smash out the awesome trek.
We generally had the best time and definitely recommend Kilisa Tours as being a professional, safe and client focused local company!

We organised to climb Mt Kilimanjaro with Goodluck and his Hantaexpedition team after hearing great things from a friend who had done so the previous year. We chose Hanta as travel company. This was a very good choice - we were amazed by the level of attention and care we were given - five star meals each night, comfy bedding, friendly staff, they always prioritized a tent position away from the crowds and with a stellar view - it was more than enough luxury for us!
our three guides - looked after us every step of the way. With fascinating knowledge of the different landscapes we were walking through and a willingness to share their personal stories, I feel that we each made new friends on our hike up.
It was a wonderful walk up. We took the Lemosho route - the longest path up and were able to enjoy stunning scenery and a great view of the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro form various angles - definitely a good way to go to ensure you maximize time to acclimatize
.We were a family of six members, which was the perfect size. We were also all of a very similar speed. This made for easy days and walking with plenty of time for laughter and cards at the end of the day.
Much Thanks to the Hanta expedition team - what an amazing adventure we had!

Team Kilimanjaro took care of us from the time we left JRO (airport an hour out of Arusha) until the time they returned us to the airport some 2.5 weeks later after guiding us up the mountain and then on a long safari. fantastic company, attention to detail is superb. there are a ton of companies out there competing for your business. you cannot go wrong with TK. our advisor, Ally, was so attentive to all of my questions leading up to the journey. I had asked a ton of questions because I do not like to enter a foreign country without knowing as much as possible. sure, one can go to Europe and get around very easily without much prior knowledge (bring euros!), but Aftrica (and Tanzania in particular) is a different animal. they want dollars, but newer bills and in larger denominations. For example, purchasing the visa at JRO is $100 for each American so I brought 2-$100 bills for this. and we also tipped in large bills -- they get a better exchange rate when they turn them into Tanzanian schillings. our guide, Julius, was very good at making sure we were all okay on the mountain. altitude does weird things to everyone so he has to be on the lookout for any oddities that might appear from any client. heck, one could die up there, so it's not something to take lightly. they kept us warm and fed -- the food was very good, although after a week we were ready for some other fare. and a nice bed, too. the porters work so hard ensuring that everything is in place when you arrive at camp -- tents set up, gear in the tent. all you have to do is crawl in and unload your stuff. not an easy thing to do at 15000' when you are cold and dead tired after a long hike. an experience of a lifetime made better by the great group taking care of us every step of the way.

My husband and I are keen to climb Kili but a few questions please.
We have had altitude sickness before but did not prepare well for the trip. We were much younger and flew into Himalayas and then trekked and carried all our own kit. We would prepare much better this time, but are scared of altitude sickness. We are also worried as I had a severe head injury (yes- it was riding when my horse fell on me- I don't ride anymore!), about 18 months ago, that has left me with homonymous hemianopia. I am otherwise well, returned to work and have trained and worked hard- eg for the Collas Crill non-stop 48.1 mile walk around Jersey coastline. But I believe it might be better for my husband and myself to climb somewhere smaller such as Mount Meru first and then climb Kili? Is that right? Do you do slightly smaller climbs to prepare for the altitude? Or would that tire us out too much before the big one?
We are both doctors, so worry about the health aspects. Is it a problem for someone on blood pressure tablets?

Welcome to the land of Mount Kilimanjaro, you don't need to two climb two peaks at the same time it might be to much for you due to some issues that you mention, I suggested that you can take a longer route with more days so that you can have big time to acclimatized before your summit attempt and for that Lemosho Route 8 days could be the great choice for you, using of your blood pressure peals is not problems, hiking always taking slow and study with safety issues like oxygen cylinder and Oxymetter for oxygen and heart rate checking so that you will be in the safe hands.
