There are displays of national costume from around the various regions and history of Bhutan. One display shows how the male and female costumes that we see today are worn, i.e. it shows people dressing into them.

This is a beautiful museum, showcasing the variety of Bhutanese textiles, and makes you appreciate the intricacy of the different motives. If you're lucky , you can see weavers at work. The shop offers a selction of textiles from the whole country, you have a bigger choice here than in the areas they were made.

I was just amazed by the quality of the textiles in Bhutan. Traditional dress and family textiles are passed down through the generations. Our visit was arranged by Exquisite Bhutan.

This modern building built in traditional style houses a very fine collection of the beautiful bhutanese handwoven cloth. A video display even shows you how the residents actually get dressed in the morning. A must see, very small and well laid out and even has a very reasoanble gift shop.

First, the weaving is amazing. The displays are informative and the building housing the textile artwork of Bhutan is filled with treasures. But the videos of how to wear the kira and gho were very nice. Kind of the highlight for me because I didn't want to ask something that could be "sensitive."
One of the exhibits showed all of the herbs/natural items used to make colors of the textiles. I did suggest that they might tell on the label what color the particular plant makes, but it was a very cool museum.

This is a small museum which has a lovely and reasonable gift shop. Unfortunately photography isn’t allowed in most of it but there are some interesting exhibits.

The Textile Museum is a good site to relish for those who have interest in history, religion and of course, textiles and designs.
This Museum incorporates all these facets. Each textile displayed in this museum has a relation to the religion followed here (Buddhism) and the history of the country. The significance of various clothes and designs are very well mentioned near them.
This museum requires an entry fee of Nu. 100 per person. The museum has a small AV room which can accommodate nearly 20 people; watching the short film there is worth and free.
The museum has two floors, of which the first floor is bigger and, for me, more interesting. The shop here is pricey, though.
Do visit this place, it's worth the time and money.
