The Hung Shing Temple is stop 2 along the Ping Shan Heritage Trail. It is located just off Ping Ha Road for those starting at the Visitor Centre and making way northwest towards the Tat Tak Communal Hall (stop 13). This is one of two temples you will see along the trail and is dedicated to the god Hung Shing. It is also the location of the important Hung Shing Festival held on the 13th day of the second lunar month each year.
Historically, the original temple was built in 1767. However, what you see today is later temple building from around 1866. It is small but typical of temples from the Late Qing Dynasty. The exterior is grey brick with pitched roof topped with Chinese tiles. There are two halls, separated by an open centre courtyard. Within you will see ancient drum & bell and shrines, hanging incense coils as well as three small bays deity shrines. There are also several stone tile plaques just outside of the temple in the small public garden.
The Hung Shing temple can be conveniently seen in 5-10 minutes before continuing onward to the Entrance Hall of the Shut Hing Study Hall (stop 3) along the Ping Shan Heritage Trail.

洪聖廟位於元朗屏廈路, 位於天水圍站旁邊, 很方便。
洪聖是中國南方有名的神, 而且更是漁民守護神, 一般南方近海的地方也會看到他。

While it's a very small temple, it's an old historic place, very peaceful and very serene. I liked my stay here very much, learned about the place as well as meditated and burned incense.

The Hung Shing Temple is one of two temple attractions included along the Ping Shan Heritage Trail in Yuen Long. It is located along Ping Ha Road behind the small Heng Mei Tsuen Park, just a couple minutes past the Kun Ting Study Hall and Ching Shu Hin heritage attractions.
Buit by the Tang Clan in the second half of the 18th century, Hung Shing Temple is a small site, with two halls, separated by an open courtyard. Inside you will find several altars to important deities, hanging incense coils, Chinese signage and expected grey brick walls commonly seen in area temples, study halls and ancestral halls. Unlike most temples in Hong Kong which have closed or covered courtyards, this one is open to allow more natural light into the temple.
Hung Shing Temple is a decent temple to see and worth a few minutes and is the next to last stop along the trail, before finishing at the Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery cum Heritage Trail Visitors Centre just a few minutes away up the hill which overlooks the village.
