Sacred area with many additional temples you can easily explore and enjoy with respect. Plan to wander, enjoy the land, the clouds, the sky and really be in this special place with big sacred energy.

Ruins of an Inca temple that are really close to the city, there are multiple caves and stone carvings but unfortunately, the main ones are closed off to the public.

I love the Moon temple because it is not as populated and a nice place to visit to meditate and do some internal work. I recommend heading here after some other more populated sites. But let's keep it a secret!

Pienso que los servicios que se ofrecen en esta zona, están mas orientados por la insfraestructura turística a pasajero nacional y no tanto a internacional

Definitely worth it. Take the time to check it out and you will not be disappointed! My boyfriend and I went here as a stop off on our whole trip to Peru over the fall. I would highly recommend stopping in Pisac,

I took a taxi to the start of the trail to Temple of The Moon. I believe it cost 20 soles (about 6 bucks). The driver pointed me to a dirt path, and I was able to walk in and out of a few ruins. The view was incredible, and it was not crowded at all. Bring water and a snack to eat! The walk back was all downhill, it took an hour to get back to San Blas, and I was able to visit the Christo Blanco as well!

There is a place that the hurried Cusco tourist usually fails to see. It is called The Temple of the Moon, or Salumpunku. It is located between Qenko and Puku Pukara, but it is off the paved road and doesn’t fit conveniently into the Cusco city tour.
Cusco’s Temple of the Moon is a big hill with two caves inside it. The caves contain alters, and cracks in the walls let in sunlight or more significantly, moonlight that strikes the altars on certain nights. A hike up to the top of the hill will reveal carvings that seem to have no purpose.
At the entrance to one of the Temple of the Moon’s caves is a carving that is anachronistic. It looks an awful lot like a member of the elephant family. Could it be a Mammoth or a Mastodon? These creatures haven’t existed in the Western Hemisphere for over twelve thousand years. It begs the question, how old are all the stone carvings in the Temple of the Moon.
Beyond Cusco’s Temple of the Moon is an open area that has a number of Huacas, sacred sites. Huacas can be anything from a tree to a waterfall, but these huacas are carved stone shrines.
The energy here was amazing. I guess because this site is very unfrequented by visitors - so its sanctity remains
To get to the Temple of the Moon takes a dirt road that branches off the Cusco – Pisac highway just beyond the archeological site of Q’enko. It leads up to a wheat field from where you can see the mound of the Temple of the Moon on the other side of the field. Entrance to the Moon Temple is free and is un-governed by the Ministry of Culture. Hire a private taxi to take you.

Miastico e enigmatico, lindo lugar, buenos paisajes que se ven, pero es muy recomendable ir en gurpo de amigos o de la agencia de turismo, nunca solo.

It´s located up the hills of Cusco. I´d recommend going with a tour guid to understand a bit of its mistic. you could also go by yourself with a taxi (10 min) or hike all the way. All the serroundings is beautiful nature with some things to do like horse riding tours, bicycle and endless hikes.
