Tho the ships nay be abit " old in the tooth" the experience of having an island to those on the ship was amazing..wonderful lunch helpful joyful staff and amazing snorkeling with a,reserved cabana made for a truly wonderful remarkable trip

The boat ride to the island was fun with morning tea and music provided. The ride back was the same with more entertainment and nice views. The island was amazing with so much to do. We loved the snorkeling and easy for the children to do. We were able to kayak around the island which was nice. We enjoyed the glass bottom boat and the man leading it was very knowledgeable. We went on a medicine tour of the island and it was so interesting to learn about the natural medicines available. Lunch was good and drinks were supplied on the island. The children got their hair braided and the ladies were very accommodating and did a fantastic job. It was a wonderful day.

Captain Cook tours did an amazing job entertaining us on the way to the island. Very friendly staff! The island is the main attraction. One of the most beautifull beaches I've seen. Staff again kept us entertained and had a great BBQ lunch spread. Would definitely recommend to everyone. Boat ride is about 60-80 minutes, but the water is pretty calm so people prone to sea sickness should be ok.

This was a cruise ship excursion through NCL Spirit. I had tried to book privately through Captain Cook but the website wouldn't allow us to.
There was too many people on this excursion. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. Don't blame the cruiselines. This is the vendors fault.
There were not enough chairs to sit in the shade on the island. People had towels on the ground. When you are spending $199 pp, please give people chairs. They told us not to go on another part of island as the later crowd was going there. So everyone was just standing or sitting on picnic benches. Really pathetic.
The food was good. Drink was good. They were charging $5 per 8 oz cup of drink on the way back. Obviously not included.
One huge feature was the outdoor showers which were very nice.
Workers were extremely nice and helpful.
We arrived at island at 830am. Left cruise port at 745. Left island at 1245p. Arrived at cruise port at 150pm. This wasn't exactly the timeframe we were told but I did want to mention it for a reason. The excursion was Tivua Island NOT sailing around slowly in the sun and heat with exhaust fumes for 2 hours. Our lunch was at 1045am. We should have eaten at 1145 and headed back to port at 130pm. I was really nauseous with the fumes, the heat, no shade, no drink unless you wanted to pay $5 a drink. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if the sailing time was shorter?
We did the snorkeling on our own. Keep eye out for jellyfish. Not bad stings but I know folks can get reactions.
I would not advise a cruise ship person do this excursion unless they do it through the company. Do not waste your money. If you choose to do so, bring your own drink with you like a water bottle. We forgot ours and were kicking ourselves.

What a great way to spend the day! Everything about this tour was well organized. Having the island with a smaller group of other people makes this adventure well worth it. The beaches were amazing, the water so clear and the staff was friendly. The selection of food was not my preference, however, those who participated in the BBQ said the food was good. If I was to ever visit this area of Fiji again, I would go back to Tivua Island.

It wasn't worth over $600 for family. Travelling time was long, staying in island was short. There was not various fish. Lunch was awful, if you do not rush, you would be unable to eat. Drink was served in a plastic cup and the cup was dirty. It was very unorganised, paied for Cabana but all taken by unpaid people.

Perfect day, sun, sand, wine (beer)
Entertainment on Captain Cook cruise to island, there and back.
Lots of shade, cabanas and natural palm trees for shade
Crystal clear waters, and several sightings of black tip reef sharks strolling along in the water
Gentle 20 minute stroll and you have have circled the whole island

Great private island. Snorkling not the best but the amazing sandy beaches and clear water made up for it. Great crew and entertaining boat ride back to the mainland. Highly recommended.

Amazing, beautiful island. Amazing staff as always, and great service. Despite the rain, was still a great temperature to swim and snorkel.

Tivua Day cruise does cater for little ones. We do ask you bring your own floatation for the baby.

Is it suitable for young kids as in the food options and distance. Is there plenty of shade or do you have to book? Do they corner a part off for swimming

oh!! also, there is only the glass bottom boat to worry about when swimming, no other motorised sports, so the kids are safe swimming

bula it is 1.25hrs but it will seem a lot shorter as the crew keep you entertained!
