The building which is 100 years old is a contrast to its surroundings with its red bricks. It is small but warm (in winter). The congregation are composed of all kinds of ex-pats mixed with Romanians. After the morning service (10/00 am) they serve coffee and biscuits/cake. The singing was good especially when the choir was involved. I also heard the excellent Gonville and Caius choir sing the morning Eucharist as part of their tour of Romania.

We arrived for Holy Communion and were warmly welcomed. There was a good choir and a good sermon as well as hymns. Afterwards coffee and biscuits were served, - donation only and everyone was very friendly. The building itself is constructed of brick with plain white walls inside and is clean and tidy. The history is fascinating as Queen Marie of Romania regularly worshipped here and was granddaughter to Queen Victoria. During the communist regime the chaplain was constantly harassed but continued on with the "cross held high".

If you’re in Bucharest for weekend as we are, it’s nice to know that you can go to a church service in English as long as you don’t mind getting up in time for a 10am start.

We were staying at the Hotel Intercontinental, which turned out to only be about 15 minutes’ walk away, although we got a taxi there as we didn’t know where to go. Neither did the taxi driver so make sure you take your mobile with the church’s address on their website. Getting back was really easy it turned out - back to the main road and turn left and keep going for 10 minutes.

The service was very nice. It lasted until 11.15 and was a service of Holy Communion. Five hymns, led by a good choir and organist. A very good number were there although that may be more than usual as we went on Easter Sunday.

The building is quite old and kept going in the city even during the communist era.

I’d recommend going to a service.

This is a rare church for a christian country like Roumania (the only one in Bucharest actually, ranked as histoycal monument).

Church is over 100 years old, construction was started in 1900's/ finished in 1914.

You can visit during workdays, but in weekends is more interesting.

People are verry friendly here, and the church is also verry nice.

The entire area has a special feeling (icoanei park is near by and is verry chill), there are also some nice grafitty walls in proximity.

Church is made of red brick, and the overall shape is good, interior is also clean and tidy.

This is a must see place if you like old buildings

Interestingly, they make u all feel welcome.
Late victorian brickwork Church with limewash clean interior. Few icons hung on the walls form an original small art collection.
Services on Sunday from 10:00 take an hour and some 10-15 minutes.
Children can attend the Sunday School in a dedicated room next door.
Great Sermon by Father Paul.

An atypical church, different from the romanian churches.Placed not far from Piata Romana, beside Gradina Icoanei Park and at walking distance to Ion Voicu Park.It seems it is opened only on Sundays.
