Spent some time in the art cafe inside in the March of 2019. Amazing vibe. Really good crowd. Great food and Beverages. A bit in the expensive side. Saw the exhibition area and the creativity corner. Shot a few videos. Delegation of international speakers.

Alserkal Art District is a large area of warehouses in Al Quoz Area in Dubai where mainly contemporary and experimental art works like paintings, sculptures and installations from international artists can be visited in numerous Galleries. I was fascinated by the "BUILDING BAUHAUS" in the Leila Heller Gallery which showed the influence of this movement of the early 20th Century for Middle Eastern Architecture: World Trade Center Building in Dubai, Cultural Foundation A.D., University in Bagdad and of course the "White City" in Tel Aviv. There is even a cinema that shows ART films that otherwise would not find it's way into the Hollywood and Bollywood driven commercial cinemas. Count at least half a day. There are original cafés and take-aways in the area if you like to take a break.

Housed in the cultural art district in old Dubai , the contrast of old Arab settlements and new sensibility in art and expression really dazzles.
All art is created by local artists of UAE. The influence of arabic script , culture and traditions applied to european inspirations of color , technique and pop-craft.
Sit in the patio and enjoy Goat milk desserts or laze in the majlis with traditionally embroidered cushions sipping Arabic coffee.
Definite must visit for Offbeat Dubai !

This place is one of the main reasons why I go back to Fahidi.
It has a very wide range of exhibits. It has creativity corner, fashion corner, and oh the Book quarter the papers and the smell of books and the grass design of the book corner, I really really love that. It’s like you read books in an air conditioned park haha. Most of the books there were about Islam, but there are other topics as well. It’s nice to just sit there, relax, read or meditate especially when there are no people there hahaha. The introvert side of me gets activated.
There are also workshop rooms too, you can sign up and learn from experts.
Inside there is also a cafe named Make Art Cafe. Will do a separate post about that one.
My fav display here were the shadow art and the lamps. It’s one of the few constants that I wanna go back to from time to time. When I’m here it’s like whatever that’s heavy going on in my head or my heart it lighten up. That place has this effect .
If you’re looking for something real , something that has impact. It would be nice to go for walk here. And btw the stairs is cool too.

I visited this shop as well as Alskerkal Street where the new galleries are located in the warehouse district. It’s still a work in progress but completely worth visiting

History started here in Bur Dubai precisely in Al Fahidi District where, 9 years ago, Alserkal Cultural Foundation was officially established.
Now in this amazing courtyard building of House n.13 you can find many modern and forefront original artworks painted by artists from all over the world and Gcc
Every month new exhibitions take place in the many gallery rooms.
Italian Director Annamaria Bersani made extraordinary efforts to bring Alserkal Vision alive by preserving and promoting UAE cultural heritage and connecting all the other countries from West to Far East through the partecipation of international artists. Dubai needs this gem and more.
A pleasant Coffee shop is inside the majilis courtyard to stop and relax plus another unusual venue for Dubai: a library on the roof top with plenty of shadowed sofas around but do take a picture climbing the multicolour stair: it is really Special!!
I am never tired to come back
