Had a lovely day - kids enjoyed the inflatable course while the adults relaxed in the hot pools. Water and tea freely and readily available which is great. We went early on in the day which made the difference as it got quite busy in the afternoon.

Nestled in a 2 sq. km rolling hills and river, you find China's first golf course within the Zhongshan Hot Spring Hotel.

The Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus courses were built in 1989 and 1991.

The new block of the hotel every suite has a hot spring basin on the balcony which is very comfortable after a game of golf.

The Hotel has 2 outdoor swimming pools and many small outdoor hot spring pools for hotel guests to relax.

There are many palm trees and pine trees within the compound. Beautiful flowers are everywhere throughout the year.

Pretty awesome place. Lots of interesting baths (vinegar, coffee, wine, milk, tea, rose, etc.) It's even got a pool of those little fish that'll eat the dead skin off your feet (I'm not a fan but if it's your thing, you'll love it).

It's just a great place for a relaxing day of soaking in various pools. There's an assault course on the big swimming pool too, which was really fun.

I wouldn't go in summer though. Much too hot unless you stick to the handful of cold-water pools and baths.

The food is mediocre.

Living in China, our expat family is often looking for something new to experience and explore on the weekends that is accessible to those who have not yet mastered the Mandarin language (ahem, working on it). We tried this based on the advice of several other Western friends who had given it the thumbs-up, and they were right. We've been twice -- once on a super hot weekend in August, the next time on a warmish winter day in January. During the first trip, the main (large) pool was a welcome cold respite from the heat of the many scented hot spas surrounding it. There were also large obstacle-course-style inflatables in the center of the main cold pool that kids (and adults) were enjoying trying to conquer. My kids, ages 10 and 12, spent *hours* wearing themselves out on those things. During the winter visit, only the bravest and youngest were up for that frigid main pool, and the inflatables were gone. My two still amused themselves playing pool games in the freezing water as the Chinese people laughed at them and occasionally jumped in on a dare from their own friends (who were undoubtedly saying, "If those foreign kids can do it, you should be able to, loser!").

There were very few English speaking people at the hot springs that we encountered, including at the main ticket counter, which made entrance slightly more challenging. But we're handy with Google translate and managed to pay for ourselves, receive our locker-key wristband, and understand vaguely where to go the first time. We didn't, however, get that on the third floor of the main building there are drinks and snacks and recliners (included with your entry price, which was around $25-30 US per person). There are probably more perks that a good Mandarin speaker would easily be able to fill you in on ... but alas that's not me.

Since we live relatively close we've never stayed the night, and we haven't eaten at the Western restaurant. We *did* try out the Chinese restaurant on site the first time, since we'd been there all day and were starving and really wanted some good Chinese food. Signs are in English, so it was easy to find, but that's where the English ended. And when we walked into the beautiful and ornate dining room (which we were highly underdressed for, along with many of the locals), more than one waitress or restaurant manager gave us the wide-eyed look of fear. But like usual, we managed to order a few things based off of photos on the menu and a couple spoken words of Mandarin. It was good but extremely high priced due to the resort surroundings.

There is a steam room and a sauna in the changing rooms, where you are given a lock with wristband lock to put your things away for the day. The ladies standing at the pool entrance also have plastic baggies if you want to take your phone to the pools.

It's a nice getaway from the usual and a fun one- or two-time experience. Probably not something you'd want to do every weekend.

I came here alone to check out the hot springs, I ended up staying all day. There are so many different themed hot springs and they are all amazing! There's a beautiful pool in the middle of it all. I also got 2 spa treatments when I was there, massage and exfoliant treatment. I had an amazing and relaxing time there I would highly recommend!

Me and my two friends went here without expecting much. Turned out to be amazing, they have so many different warm themed pools and massage pools, and of course the massive cold pool in the middle.
