The staff did what they needed to do - sold us the ticket and then made the usual little tear in the ticket. The cost of entry is five pence! A bargain you might think however this is probably the most pitiful museum I have ever visited. A shame as the history of Aurangabad is fascinating and some of it still visible - gates and wall.
Some serious investment would be good.

Located within the city, is closed on Thursday & public holidays. It is maintained by Govt & needs some good attention for upkeep.
It has good collection of swords / Armory / utensils and pictures of various forts conquered by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the display of various era coins is amazing.
At the entrance to the museum, the statue of Maharaj receiving sword from Goddess is impressive

Its good initiative to have such collection. However as other Goverment places, this as well lacks maintenance. Washrooms are stinking and you can not stand in exhibition hall as well.

Was disappointed to see that there was not much to see in this museum. You can skip it if you have visited lot of other museums around the country, as you will not see anything very special here. Wish it could have been better.

This museum houses artefacts, weapons, paintings, coins from the 17th century Maharashtra, the time during which the great emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ruled Maharaashtra.
This musuem does not have any personal weapon of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as such, but has weapons and coins of those times.
Sadly, the musuem is in a very pathetic state. But do not be surprised, the Maharashtra government and the local authorites never cared for all this. I pity the large-hearted man who donated all these artefacts worth millions of dollars for free to the government, only to be displayed like this.
Yet, I will say do visit this museum. It is still worth it.

ムンバイ国際空港の本当の名前はチャトラパティ シヴァジー空港であり、検索でヒットした際にそれだけが興味で訪問。日本人からすればあまり価値は感じないかな。

The Museum is located off a main road in Aurangabad city and is easily accessible. The museum has a very small parking space within the compound. There is a nominal entrance fee to visit the museum. Photography is restricted inside the Museum. The museum displays items, artifacts and photos associated primarily with Chhatrapati Shivaji as well as with the Marathas. It is a small museum, with the center courtyard.
The Museum must have been built with good intentions, however, currently it is not in great condition, mainly the exhibits, which appears to have deteriorated over a period of time.
We were drawn to the museum because of its name, hoping to learn little more about the Great King, but we were not much impressed with what was on display.

This place is not given its rightful place and hardly anyone goes. The auto guy could not even recollect which place this is when we wanted to go and we used google maps to guide him.
The place is not maintained at all, but the collection of coins which take you through the history of the Deccan is marvelous. Its a rare thing to see. Unfortunately badly maintained but this is a place which must find its place in your itinerary

Good place. Have at least 2 hours for visiting it if you are his fan or if you are a history and culture enthusiast.
